20 arent't very much gaps.
However, there are a few that are almost unpardonable :)
e.g.: (with ratings out of ****)
Lawrence of Arabia (for me, the best film ever) ****
The Graduate (excellent comedy/ ask Rushmore ==> he'll agree!) ****
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (a classic with a brilliant Jack Nicholson)***
The Grapes of Wrath (read first Steinbeck's wonderful novel, if you haven't yet) ***
2001: A Space Odyssey (Stanley Kubrick, that should be enough) ***
Doctor Zhivago (here just 2 words, too: ALEC GUINNESS) ***
A Streetcar Named Desire ***
A Clockwork Orange ***
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (Newman and Redford, one of the best screen couples ever) ***1/2
Amadeus (disappointing) *
Easy Rider (Hopper, Fonda, Nicholson, great film) ***
P.S.: Well, I guess I shouldn't complain, because I have also got a few ashaming gaps: High Noon, Singin' in the Rain, The African Queen, ... :)

Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago were both on TCM a while back and I missed them. I was hoping that they would show A Streetcar Named Desire when they did their tribute to Marlon Brando but they didn't. I need to check the video rental store to see how many of these titles they have in.

Re: to your PS: Singing in the Rain is great and the African Queen is really good. High Noon is a pretty good movie too but it's not one of my favorites.

Yes to back up 1922's statement, The Graduate is a great dark romantic comedy, one of the best ever made, yuo have too see it.

Also let me tell you that midnight cowboy is an amazing movie. though at tmies intense and creepy, it has great scenes and hoffman (Dustin :) is great in this. be ready for the intensity of Taxi Driver but in my view Midnight cowboy is alot better, alot better.
