This is a great list. I loved some of your choices. Though with the side-splitting laughter, I'd put Annie Hall and Bringing up Baby under that list. Cheers.
Nice list. Very cool category system. Some suggestions:
City Lights (For either side-splitting or classics)
Children of Paradise (Probably classics)
The Best Years of Our Lives (Classics again)
Notorious and North by Northwest (Both suspense films at the surface, but there's a lot of romance in each. I guess they'd be either unconventional or classic, though the latter is pretty funny. I wouldn't put it in side-splitting though.)
Wow, nice list! I too like your categories. If I may make a recommendarion, you should try and find a spot for Truly Madly Deeply on here.
I certainly concur with the addition of 'Truly, Madly, Deeply' (perhaps in the British category).
I would also suggest the addition of:
Four Weddings and A Funeral - British
Heaven Can Wait (Warren Beatty and Julie Christie)
