Yeah, sad, isn't it? I'm starting to give up hope. Who would have thought that such a beloved children's movie at the time of its release would be so forgotten so soon?
You would think! I still have a glimmer of hope, with the recent and upcoming releases of The Complete Musketeers and Cold Comfort Farm, which I didn't think I'd ever see, but with Babe there's an existing DVD and its predominant audience of children and their parents are lousy at lobbying for widescreen presentations. I imagine many of the parents figure it's like lobbying for a widescreen presentation of The Wiggles. :-) So I fear we'll be stuck with the Yokelvision version for some time. We'll see though.
As far as I know, Babe still has yet to see the digital light of day in widescreen.

It was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar for pity's sake! Beloved children's film aside, doesn't that accolade count for something?
