I just ordered this Yamakawa DVD-238 DVD player from eCost. Total came to $48.94 and there is a $10 rebate available. They say that it is Multi-Region out of the box without any hacks. We'll have to wait and see. Of course I have no personal experience with Yamakawa or eCost so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out.

Not I, at least not yet. I've been lucky in that the few non-US releases I've tried I've been able to find Region-0 discs for.
