For your Imitators list, I think there is one small part in The Apartment that is supposed to be making fun of Marilyn Monroe. I can't for the life of me remember the actress though, since I saw the movie a while ago.
That's Joyce Jameson. Without a doubt, The Apartment is a better known movie, but The Comedy of Terrors gave Joyce Jameson a bigger, juicier role making it, my guess is, more popular among her admirers.
