- Wired: forget the online ed, the big beautiful glossies in the mag, plus being able to carry it with and show it off, not to mention outstanding content, make this my top pick. I just wish they came out with more than 12 issues per year.
- Smithsonian: History, Anthropology, Travel and Culture. It reads like an engaging National Geographic, though with less nude natives. The content to ads ratio is better in Smithsonian too.
- Saturday Evening Post: I know, it's a sort of catch-all variety magazine for the geriatric set, but it's always fun to catch a read.
- Any food magazine with luscious pictures of good, rich dishes of the world! Like 'Gourmet'

I believe in periodicals as disposable history. Relevant, but people still pitch 'em.
