Author Comments:
I had fun with the first one, didn't you? Let's do it again.
7/14/03 - Happy Bastille Day! I added a few more.

I think #6 is "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas (cringe), #20 is "The Impression That I Get" (?) by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, #24 is "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith, and #28 is something by the Talking Heads.
Correct on all counts. Any idea as to what song #28 is? I think it's what's generally regarded as their biggest hit.
I know, I just couldn't come up with the title. I kept replaying the tune in my head, and I think it's "Once in a Lifetime". Right?
Bingo.
#9 Hey You, Pink Floyd
#15 Wonderwall, Oasis
#21 Chanukah Song, Adam Sandler
#22 Steppin' Out, Joe Jackson
#25 Ican't Make You Love Me, Bonnie Raitt
#26 Purple Rain, Prince
#11 is from Captain Jack by Billy Joel, but I'm not sure
You are right for #11, #21, #22, #25, and #26. For #9 and #15, you have the bands right but not the songs. Nice job though.
AJ, I loved you comments on England! Sounds like you scored some great CDs too!
I know way too many of these to play, but you are very sly with 6 and 7, and I didn't know anybody else bothered to decipher number five before! A classic piece of spleen venting!
Great to hear from you!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
I had a great time in England, and yes, I did pick up some excellent albums.
I thought the 6 and 7 thing was pretty clever too... :-)
#9- Welcome to the Machine/ Pink Floyd
#29- Christmas/ The Who (from Tommy)
Smart List!
Correct on both counts!
15. "Champagne Supernova" - Oasis (great song)
18. "Genius in France" - Weird Al
27. "Mr. Cellophane" - Kander & Ebb (Chicago: The Musical)
I wanted to include an Oasis song, but I thought I'd really fool everyone by including one that's not on the Oasis album I just bought. A great song, indeed. Also good calls on the Weird Al and Chicago.
1. "Out On The Tiles" - Led Zeppelin (best Bonham)
10. "Addicted To Love" - Robert Palmer
13. "Let Me Roll It" - Wings
19. This one drove me crazy for a little while... "He Rode A Blazing Saddle" - Frankie Laine
17. "Dancin Fool" - Zappa
30. This one I don't know the artist but I know where I've heard it - The "Bob and Tom Show" - "Enormous Penis" is the name.
Ooh, I'm so happy that someone got "Enormous Penis." Nice song-identifyin' there, stumpy.
3. Theme from 'The Family Guy'
Wow, haven't seen you around here in a while, tdunnie! Yes, you are correct, of course.
Alright, I'll do a few from the bottom. Heck, it is five o'clock...
33 - King Heroin - James Brown (killer song)
32 - Against All Odds (AKA Take a Look at Me Now) - Phil Collins
31 - This is the one that forced me to guess at one - TRIBUTE - Tenacious D
23 - Cemetry Gates - The Smiths
I'll hold off on a few others, as I'm hoping *somebody* knows them, especially several near the top.
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs (who hopes he got the numbers right...he didn't double-check like he should have...:()
Well, of the ones left, I know you know #5 and #7, and I think you probably know #4 and #12. Not sure if you know #8, but if you don’t, you (and everyone else out there) should download it, because it’s such an awesome song. #14 reaches to the deepest levels of obscurity (Jim *might* know it, but probably not). #34 I put in there in honor of jblack’s return. And if you’re like me, you’ve heard #35 waaaaay too many times.
Oh, and all of your guesses were right, of course. And also, "King Heroin" is one of my favorites on the compilation.
#2 Reel Big Fish, "Sell Out" ?
#16 Madonna, "Vogue" ?
Both correct. Nice going, geek.
Aha! #7 is Dust in the Wind of the great Something/Anything by Todd Rundgren
Ooh, another Rundgren fan? I'm very pleased.
OK, because I am both a completist and impatient (a bad combination), I'm posting some hints so we can be done with this lyric game. There are seven lyrics remaining: 4, 5, 8, 12, 14, 34, and 35.
1. One of the seven is an REM song.
2. 14 is very, very obscure. It comes from a cartoon. Jim or dgeiser13 might possibly recognize it.
3. As I said before, 34 is in honor of jblack's return.
4. One of the seven is by a group who was only together for a very brief period of time, but put out a masterpiece of an album.
5. One of the seven should remind you of an infamous sketch comedy.
6. One of the seven is by an artist whose name would be more commonly recognized as following the word "Hey."
7. lbangs, just say what 12 is, I don't think anyone else can get it. Except maybe Nick_Vane, but he hasn't been around much lately.
Aye aye, captain!
12 - Maybe the People Would be the Times or Between Clark and Hilldale - Love - Forever Changes
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
Wow, how did you know that?!?!?!?!
Maybe #5 is Ignoreland?
It certainly is!
Let's get this quiz finished, eh? I'll separate the ones already answered.
Alright, #14 is from Homestar Runner, but I can't remember anything other than that. It's the lightswitch rave, no?
Nice job! I thought that was too obscure for everyone.
