TO BE CONTINUED!!!
Let me know what you think about this list.

The low rankings for John Cusack, Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Marlon Brando, Cary Grant, and Katherine Hephburn incite murderous rage in me :-)
The actors 'rated' with '**' are surely good actors, but compared to those 'rated' with '****' (Lee, Nicholson, Stewart, Guinness) I don't think they are great enough.
OK, I have moved Paul Newman to a higher rating, because he is really great.
Woo-hoo! Nice to see him in better company now.
*1/2 For John Candy? He's a Legend.
* = John Cusack?...
* = Leslie Nielsen, dang he's funny, you seen the naked gun movies or airplane?
Micheal keaton? ** why?
but i do agree with your top pile, but maybe have some more up there with them. still nice list
That's just what I think of them. I don't like John Cusack very much.
For John Candy: well, there you are probably right. I have seen lots of movies with him and as a comedian I like(d) him very much. So, I have no idea why I put him there. I should put him under the category of 2,5-stars-actors and actresses.
For Leslie Nielsen: He is certainly a great comedian. He IS funny and 'Airplane' is an excellent comedy too, but he is definetly not one of my favourite actors.
For Michael Keaton: He is a good actor. I really liked him as Batman (he was much better than Val Kilmer or George Clooney), but here again I think that there are much better actors than him.
fair enough mate :) sorry didnt mean to sound too Mean or annoyed :)
I totally realize that this is what you think of actors. But indulge me and let me give my perspective on Ms. Streep's work.
Her resume: she's done about thirty movies in the last quarter century, wide variety of directors, wide variety of co-stars, wide variety of roles, yadda, yadda, yadda... Her roles: there are no clunkers there, no parts that make you wonder what the heck she was thinking? or what the heck happened? She rocks: on top of that, in every role she's had, she's always been the best damn thing in the movie. Year after year: from The Deer Hunter to The Manchurian Candidate she's outperformed all contenders, taken their milk money and made them wait their turn at the water fountain. She still got game: I can't wait to see her go head to head with Jim Carrey in Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events , the best he'll do is play her to a draw. Breakin' ankles and breakin' hearts: I'm always glad to see her in a movie.
I'll spare you the "Bogart is a much better actor than most people suspect" speech.
1922, me and AJDagreat were talking about Jim Carrey Earlier in the week, as i don't see him on your list, whats your thoughts on jim?
i love all his movies, mostly because i liked the Ace Ventura movies when i was younger and then grow into his later movies such as Bruce Almighty,Dumb and dumber, Liar Liar & Me Myself and irene.. your thoughts?
Well, I'm not really a fan of Jim Carrey. Nevertheless, I enjoyed The Truman Show very much, and would like to see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
For all the other movies I have seen with him (including Ace Ventura 1 + 2, Batman Forever, Dumb and Dumber and Liar, Liar): I have seen better, but also worse films.
So, it'd be rather difficult to put him on this list, because for his performance in The Truman Show, he'd deserve 3 stars, and for the other films just 1 star or 1,5.
P.S.: As soon as possible, I'll continue writing this list.
