NPR's Story of The Day Podcast brought me this article... If anyone could point you towards good books, it'd be a librarian, right?

I just have to disagree here. Generally, a librarian can point you towards books that a majority of people would classify as "good", but that's the same majority of people who liked Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, The Da Vinci Code, and John Grisham.
OTOH, librarians are in a unique position to point you in the direction of books you will find "good" if they have enough familiarity with your reading tastes to know what is good for you. Or if they're certain librarians who happen to be monk--
*BANG*
lol... Well, if I could get HIM to recommend books for me I'd be set for life. But mostly, you happen to be my favorite source. (Even with Texas Hero.)
(You know, someday I'm going to break down and read that book, and be absolutely horrified to discover I like it.)
The things is, thrift stores and other associated 3-books-for-a-quarter places keep tossing Texas-themed boddice rippers at me. Not to mention Justin's Bride. You have no idea the amount of self-restraint it takes to be me.
