Author Comments:

these folks have recorded themselves laughing, either before, after, or during a song... i'll try to fill in the songs as i remember them, but please help me by adding to the list--artists or song titles or both. thanks!

Well Taryn..I know Black Francis of The Pixies has done it..Also, there is a rare 80's new wve cut by a group called B-Movie who uses it in a song (a brilliant song at that)called Nowhere Girl.

Bob Dylan - Rainy Day Woman # 12 and 35, among others
Captain Beefheart - Ella Guru and others
Johnny Rotten - Anarchy in the UK

And, of course...

Napoleon XIV - They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!

and the sequel

Josephine XV - I'm Happy They Took You Away, Ha-Haaa!

If I think of more, I let you know. I could swear there's a Prince song somewhere... He chuckles a bit in Raspberry Beret....

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

Doesn't Ozzy do some laughing in Crazy Train?

Cyndi Lauper laughs in She-Bop. (I can only imagine why...)

lol (now that's funny...) thanks for the reminder!

I believe Sarah MacLaughlin laughs at the beginning of Circle - at least I think that's what that sound is.

i think you're right--thanks for helpin out!

It's kind of an obscure reference, one that i might not have though of had i not recently dusted off the album, but from Paul McCartney's Tug of War he does a song with Carl Perkins called "Get It", and that finishes with a pretty good dose of laughter from Mr. Perkins.

jars of clay - "boy on a string"
bob dylan - "bob dylan's 155th dream"
eminem - "the real slim shady"
the beatles - "i am the walrus"

I am pretty sure that Sarah Harmer gives a little laugh at the start of Basement Apartment

Rod Stewart has laughed and chuckled in quite a few of his songs from the '70's and early '80's. Particularly on his "Blondes Have More Fun" LP. Beware of the pop-disco tunes though.
