- Here it iz!!!! My top 200 as of February 2008. Due to all the tunes heard in January, I was able to make a new list, and there are lots of new songs on this one!!! Some songs have, risen, some fallen, but hey, any track that made the list is in my opinion worth listening to. K, we will now get started with:
- 1. Orbital-Halcyon*****
- Yes, it is still at number one. I could go on and on (heh heh) about how this is still the best trance song I’ve heard so far. Apparently, they wrote this for their mother who died using the drug or something. I love when artists put their sadness into a song and it turns out as a hit.
- 2. Opus III- It’s a Fine Day*****
- Why didn’t I hear this tune before?! This is an excellent song!!! Kirsty’s voice in this song is so hypnotizing….And the beat, it's just so energizing, and full of life. I think I even hear a little choir in the background as well!!!! This is the song that Halcyon got it’s vocals from of course. I love that piano in there.
- 3. Deftones- My own summer (Mid Winter Remix)*****
- I heard this song on a video game known as Street Sk8er 2. It’s an old playstation game that me and my sisters played for hours, until we were god like at it. It’s in my opinion one of the best sk8 boarding games ever. Anyway, the song is awesome. This probably isn’t trance, but it has an electronic sound to it, and it would sound awesome in the club. The Deftones are one of my favorite metal groups, and this song is one of my favorite EDM tracks.
- 4. The MFA- The Difference It Makes*****
- I just love progressive trance like this. It’s so relaxing, and it’s a lovely song. Something you can play anytime, for any situation. There’s a message in this song… somewhere.
- 5. Tiesto- Suburban Train*****
- The craziest, mind-blowing, shiver inducing buildup EVER!!!!! Especially to those hearing the song for the first time. You’ve got to play it loud to get the full effect ,but even if you do play it softly, it’s still a great song. He makes you think the big bang is about to happen, but then the beat slows down for a couple of more bars and then…. BOOOOOOOOOM!!!! Tiesto fan or not, you’ve gotta have some love for this track here.
- 6. Eric Prydz- Call on Me
- Many folks knock me for including this song and putting it so high on my list. If you’re one of those people… Bite me. This is a great, catchy song and that’s that.
- 7. Aphex Twin- Xtal
- -This track reminds me of Halcyon for some reason. It’s really ambient, and has got some beautiful vocals in it.
- 8. Nathan Fake- Outhouse (Main Mix)/ (James Holden Remix)
- Ah, Young Nate with the amazing track…. This song has really grown on me…. In fact I love this song so much, I even made a cheap “reconstruction” of this song while teaching my sisters to make trance on FL studio…. I just love the bass in this song, and I love the part after everything is silent, the bass comes back with some phasy sounding notes on top of it… Any mix of this song sounds good. I think this is a soon to be classic.
- 9. Air- Don’t Be Light
- The beginning to this song is the best part. When those strings come in… it can bring tears to one’s eyes… there’s gotta be a mix out there that utilizes that part throughout the whole song… This song is an adventure. After that distorted guitar part comes in, everything gets really quiet, and then a man starts speaking about random things… then there’s the “la la laaa la laaa laaaaaaaaa.”
- 10. The Orange Theme (Bervoets & De Goeij Mix)
- The Orange Theme… ah, I love this song so much. The first time I heard this track was as a sample Project on FL studio… Then I heard this mix of the song and I thought… wow. It starts off really quietly, then it just builds and builds and dives straight into the song.
- 11. The Future Sound of London- Papua New Guinea
- That drum part in the beginning is just hinting you that something great is about to happen. Then when that bass line and that piano comes in, with those break beats behind it, you can’t help but to shake a little, because of its awesomeness…
- 12. Sharam- Party All the Time
- So I was working on my online class listening to Radio 538 and I hear this song!!! It’s like Eric Prydz’s Call on me, except with a different song!!! It’s a remake of Eddie Murphy’s song he made in like 85 or something. This is an awesome remix!!!! “My girl wants to party all the time party all the time party all the tiiiihiiime….”
- 13. Aural Vampire- Darkwave Surfer
- Yes!!!! I finally found the name of this song!!! I’m sure we’ve all heard this somewhere before,(maybe in a commercial) and this is probably not exactly trance, or barely even techno, but this song is so awesome, I had to include it in the list. When I think of this song, for some reason I think, “girl power.” Yes, it’s a very girly song, but hey, yknow.
- 14. Ayla- Angelfalls (Waterfall mix)
- This has become one of my favorite songs. I just love that build-up, and the angelic, heavenly choir singing on the track. This is another shiver inducing buildup. The Particular Beach one is good, and the Elemental force one is ok. Ah, the things I think about when I listen to this….lol… (see previous list)
- 15. Underworld- Two Months Off
- “You bring light to….. you bring light to…. You bring light to… You bring light to…..”
- On my last list, I said this song would either get really annoying, or become really infectious, and obviously, it got REALLY infectious. When you’re thinking about this song while listening to another song, you know you love it… Those lyrics are so sing-able and that repetitive beat behind them just make you wanna move.
- 16. Epsilon 9- Life Formation (infernal machine mix)
- This is another massive progressive tune that I came across in my hunt for tunes. I’d like to thank the person who put samples of all 350 of their songs on their list. I listened to them ALL, and I found this to be one of the better tracks. Thanks man. This song is a bouncy, yet relaxing tune, and like how the beat just phases all over the place.
- 17. Jonas Steur- Silent Waves
- Lovely song. You know what it sounds like. If you don’t, then go to youtube and uh…. Yeah.
- 18. Dominic Plaza- Sounds Rushing
- Another one that has really grown on me. This song is just so…”fresh” sounding. Then those chopped up vocals come in and everything just gets better.
- 19. VNV Nation- Legion (Apoptygma Berzerk remix)
- I love this kind of music. It’s dark, and somewhat apocalyptic sounding. The guy has such a way with words…(that sounds a little gay, I know…) and the music, heh heh… dark as well.
- 20. Oceanlab- Clear Blue Water (Ferry _Corsten Mix/ Mike Shiver Remix)
- Ferry’s mix is the best. I love the melody in that version. The Mike Shiver one is kind of ambient, and a little more softer sounding. They would both sound good in the club though.
- 21. Holden & Thompson- Nothing (93 returning mix)
- Like I said before, I like what he did with the vocals, and how the music progresses into something that Is really well thought of, and somewhat dark/happy…. I know that doesn’t make sense, but listen to the song, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
- 22. Scott Bond vs. Solarstone- 3rd Earth
- Oh my GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!! When everything stops, and that choir starts singing… my eyes water. Choirs of angelic voices are my favorite instrument in trance, and this song makes good use of them. God, I should try to find a genre of music that has choirs singing like that… I already listen to Celtic Woman…
- 23. Front Line Assembly- Fatalist (Tribal Techno Remix)
- *Note, Tribal Techno is the name of the people that remixed the song.
- This song has grown on me a lot. I love the dark mood of this song, and the lyrics of it. The acid in here is great as well. I first discovered this song on my iPod while reading one of my friend’s manga, “Battle Club” so this song somewhat reminds me of those days.
- 24. Arno Cost & Arias- Magenta
- I first saw this on a YouTube video promoting some event. I looked down at the comments to see if anyone knew what the song was called, and thankfully, someone knew. This kind of reminds me of Call on Me
- 25. Hallucinogen- LSD
- This is THE GOA song for me. The whole Twisted album is good. The vocals in this song are catchy. You’ve got a man in the beginning rambling on about people being scared of something, then you’ve got a lady talking about the “religious experiences” you have from using LSD, then theres the “HE’s LOSING HIS MIND AND FEELS IT GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!” part that I love so much. The last 2.5 minutes of this song are the greatest.
- 26. Paul Oakenfold ft. Carla Werner- Southern Sun (Tiesto Remix)
- I like how Tiesto adds his “flava” to this song. It’s another one of those songs that just make you smile on the inside, if not on the outside when you listen to it.
- 27. Humate- Love Stimulation (Paul Van Dyk’s Love Club mix)
- This is such a powerful song. I like how PvD incorporates the sadness he was feeling at the time into the song, and he just makes it sound so lovely. The piano in this song is amazing.
- 28. DPP- Conundrum (Plainsphere Remix)
- Another massive progressive tune I came across during my search for new songs. I think this is somewhat of a sexy song… the first time I listened to it, all I could think about was Victoria’s secret models walking down a runway in some hat as lingerie. Now I think of a dark blue club scene in slow motion with smoke everywhere, and bright blue lights flashing…. *P.S. I’d like to thank the folks who IDed this song on TranceAddict.com, Folks, if you wanna find some tunes, try the IDed tunes archive on TranceAddict.com. All you have to do is click the tune, and you can listen to it almost instantly.
- 29. Fire & Ice- Forever Young
- Tiesto, Tiesto, Tiesto….. your Magik series never seems to disappoint… Forever Young is a great track with an excellent melody. What also makes it so good, is that the melody loops for most of the song like most good melodies should, and there’s not a big breakdown.
- 30. Torley Wong- Xristophan (Original Mix/(Everloved Mix)*This is the song that is commonly known as “Rare Duet” by Aphex Twin and Robert Miles
- I didn’t even know about it until I started looking at people’s music lists, then I looked at it on YouTube. But folks, this is a song that’s just full of life. You must hear it.
- 31. Lucas & Beltram- Trust Me (Ava Mea Remix)
- Good progressive tune.
- 32. Transa- Supernova
- An anthem tune with a nice melody, especially around 3:00 just like Lassic said.
- 33. Prodigy- Voodoo People (Pendelum Remix)
- Oh my lord, when I first heard this track, I thought my head was gonna explode!!! This joint is massive!!!!!!!!!!! MASSIVE!!!!! It’s a drum and bass song of course, and it’s got a little “rock” flavor in it too
- 34. Brooklyn Bounce- Club Bizarre (Restart version)
- This was In my early collection. Brooklyn bounce was one of the first groups I fell in love with. The members just look so cool, I mean, you’ve got two goth chicks, and a black guy. Then their music was the kind that I liked, especially this song. The vocals in this one are amazing. This song is so chill, but yet, you can dance to it. The video version is really good too.
- 35. Sasha- Xpander
- Ayyyyy… more progressive.
- 36. Push- Strange World
- Yes, I do think it’s better than Universal Nation. That anthem is just so catchy, I always want to press repeat when I hear it. The original is better than the 2000 remake in my opinion.
- 37. Solarstone- Seven Cities ( Armin Van Buuren Remix Club Edit)
- This is a song that will get people JUMPING in the club, no matter If you like trance or not. Of course, my favorite part is the part before everything slows down and the guitars come in. I like to flick my lightbox light on and off, and play “Tiesto” during that part,(i.e. waving my hands, bouncing up and down, putting my earphones in one ear and pretending to mess with knobs.) It’s really a sight to see folks, hey I bet I’d become an Internet celebrity if I posted that on YouTube…
- 38. LSG- Netherworld (Oliver Prime Remix)
- The riffs man… the riffs…. I love how the Oliver Prime version starts out real ambient like, and then everything just hushes…. Then those riffs slowly creep their way in and get louder and louder… when that happens, I imagine light things, like the ocean, and a club scene with bright blue lighting… Also, those riffs repeat for most of the song, which is good. The original is not bad either, it’s a little more upbeat.
- 39. Phynn- Lucid
- Another gigantic progressive choon. That’s right, I said “Choon.” I know that word’s corny, but the person that posted this song in one of my forum topics on t.nu put a “Choon” smiley next to this title, so… yeah. My favorite part starts at 4:16. For some reason, it makes me think of people doing stuff in slow motion…
- 40. Pendulum & Freestylers- Fasten Your seatbelts
- This was in my early collection of trance tunes. This can really get people dancing as well.
- 41. Technique- Sun is Shining (Mash Up Matt Remix)
- The vocals in this song aren’t too repetitive, and they’re used properly. Her voice isn’t amazing, but it gets the job done. The buildup is great as well. Before I said this was one of the better songs on isos 4. I don’t know what the hell I was thinking, I meant to say ISOS
- 42. VNV Nation- Honour (Juno Reactor Remix)
- VNV Nation rears it’s head on my list yet again. Two songs in my top 25. That’s an honor. Anyway. This is a FIGHT SONG. This song gets me so pumped before a big basketball game, or any kind of competition. Once again, the lyrics in this song are dark and apocalyptic, and it’s a song about fighting for honor… and once again, the guy has such a way of saying things…( sigh… I’m not gay…)
- 43. Above and Beyond- Can’t Sleep (ATB Remix)
- Above and Beyond is becoming one of my favorite trance producers. No one on earth, and can’t sleep are great tracks. This is an excellent song and ATB did a good remix of it.
- 44. Above and Beyond- No One On Earth (Gabriel and Dredson Edit)
- Ok, so the lady in this song doesn’t sing that well, but the music in this song is great. It sounds like a distorted cowbell or something I don’t know, but it’s great. I just wish the part after the slowdown looped a little longer.
- 45. Motorcycle- As the rush comes
- This is a really girly song in my opinion, but I love it.
- 46. Darude- Sandstorm
- This is still one of my favorite songs, and is one of the songs that got me into trance music
- 47. Telepopmusik- Breathe
- Same as Sandstorm.
- 48. The Thrillseekers ft. Sheryl Deane- Synaestesia (Fly Away)
- Hot chick, hot voices, hot song. A little cheese.. . but I cares not.
- 49. Push- Universal Nation 2003
- I don’t like the original that much, but this version is good.
- 50. Dumonde- Never Look Back (DJ Tiesto Remix)
- Great song to listen to while running. Once again, Big Tijs puts his spin on things.
- 51. Angelli & Nelson- Wear that Dress (John O Callaghan Remix)
- This is a tune I found off of imeem.com. People make playlists of like 300 songs sometimes, and listening to them is as simple as pointing and clicking. This sounds like a remix to some little punk rock song, but it sounds really good. That guitar is an animal, and the lyrics are catchy.
- “I think I like that more!” heh heh…
- 52. Art of Trance- Madagascar (Cygnus X Remix)
- Great song, everyone knows it, and if you don’t know, you’d better ask somebody.
- 53. Airscape- L’Esperanza (Armin’s Rising star remix)
- I’m not aloud to play this in the car anymore, especially if I’m driving with my parents… this song just makes you think like young Ricky Bobby…. “I wanna go fast….” Especially when it gets to that part where it starts building up… yeah.
- 54. Chicane ft. Marie Brennan- Saltwater (Thrillseekers Dub)
- This was once my favorite song, and come to think of it, I listened to this before I even knew it was trance. I forget where I first heard it but, who cares about that…. Her voice is just so amazing… I don’t listen to this out loud unless I’m in some kind of quiet romantic situation… I’ll listen to the original out loud though.
- 55. Underground Resistance- High Tech Jazz
- I heard this tune on Midnight Club 3. It’s just like the name suggests. It’s fast paced techish jazz music. I like how it kind of sounds like something from a Sonic the Hedgehog video game.
- 56. The PQM- You are Sleeping (Luke Chable Vocal Mix)
- You pick up this working girl….. hooked on smack…. Hustles and scores…. That’s all I do she says, she says, 10 bucks for head, 15 for half and half, she says that’s 3 hits a day at 35 per, you say that’s seven tricks a day a least…. She says….. sometimes…. IIII geeet lucky… once this guy gives me a bill and a half just to eat me…. Only time I ever came (only time I ever came)” Scary sounding….. I had to listen to this twice to realize “Hey this songs about a prostitute!!!!” But anyway, I love how this song just sounds so dark and danceable…. And the asian sounding guy saying YOUyouyouAREareareSLEEPeepeepINGinging. After The Difference it makes, this is easily the best song on Balance 005. Yeah, I pasted it from the first list… so what.
- 57. Paul Van Dyk- In Circles
- PvD does it again. The bass in this song is great, and then, we get some nice piano that eventually comes in the mix. Great stuff Paul, great stuff.
- 58. Final Fantasy- I close my eyes
- Like Sandstorm and Breathe, this is a song that got me into trance. I still love it. M y friend was burning me a CD with music from Final Fantasy (the game series) on it, and he must have got some of this stuff. He also got “sequence of love” and “Set Me Free (Defcon 5 Mix)”
- 59. Daft Punk- One More Time
- “We’re goanna celebraaayayyte oh yeah, alright, don’t stop the dancing…” Another song that got me into EDM.
- 60. Energy 52- Café Del Mar (Three N’ One Re) / Fragma- Man in the moon
- They’re basically the same song, except one has vocals. I still don’t think that 4.5 minutes of breakdown time is worth 2.5 minutes of melody….I rarely listen to the whole song, I usually fast forward to about 3:50 (tranceport version)
- 61. The Orb- Little Fluffy Clouds
- That womans voice makes the song. The beat is not bad either. It actually makes you think of little fluffy clouds in a blue sky.
- 62. Hybrid- Finished Symphony (Hybrid Soundtrack Mix)
- This like a song that would be in a movie, and when you hear it, that’s the first thing you may think. At first it doesn’t sound like trance at all. It’s great though, and when you’re in a sad mood, this song will, well… make you sadder…
- 63. Robert Natus- You did survive
- This is a good one. I like the opening.
- 64. The Verve- Bittersweet Symphony (Trance mix)
- I don’t know who did the remix to this song but who cares. I heard it in an AMV, and I knew I had to have this song. Bittersweet symphony is one of my favorite songs ever, and if this wasn’t just a trance list, that song would be near the top. This trance mix is good, but It pales in comparison to the original song.
- 65. Choice- Acid Eiffel
- This is a relaxing song. Nice acid effects in it, and I nice pad being played behind it.
- 66. Orbital- One Perfect Sunrise
- From the beginning, you hear a beautiful voice singing, then sounds get added in, and then this massive bass line and drum pattern comes in at about 55 seconds, and you’ve just gotta start jumping. Another song I like to play “tiesto” to.
- 67. Art of Noise- Moments in Love
- Like I said before, some don’t consider this as trance. It has fallen on the list, but I still like it as a song though.
- 68. Benny Benassi- Deepest Blue
- This sounds more like a pop song, but I don’t care. It’s by a “techno” artist so I include it on my list. Like some songs, this one has fallen greatly, but hey it’s still great. Those vocals are so catchy, and that beat just makes you feel good.
- 69. Airwave- Sensation 2003
- A great anthem song. I love the part in the middle where it plays that violin sounding pattern. Great stuff.
- 70. Armin Van Buuren- Love You More
- Now this is a good song! Armin is a great producer, and I am going to start looking for more of HIS better tunes. This song just makes you say, “wow, trance is a great genre…” The melody in this song is excellent. I still think:Tiesto>PvD>Armin but hey, I haven’t heard many of Armin’s tunes so that could change.
- 71. Aphex Twin- Pulsewidth
- AFX is becoming one of my favorite artists as well. This is just another great track that is worthy of the list. This will probably move up in the future.
- 72. Age of Love- Age of Love (Jam & Spoon’s _Watch out for stella remix)
- My favorite part of this song is the “Come on….. dance with me…. Move your body…. And lots of beats… move your body and lots of beats..” A nice remix to a classic. I’ve heard the original, and I think it’s boring. I still hade that loud ass beep. Damn that beep to hell….
- 73. Orbital- Halcyon &On &On (Plejik Remix)
- This is a drum and bass sounding remix, that sounds better than the original On & On version. That one is still good though. Of course, both versions are like David to the Goliath Original, Halcyon…. Heh heh… not even close.
- 74. The House Crew- Super Hero (High Contrast Remix)
- You don’t believe me? Look at the video on youtube. Great drum and bass remix to a nice song.
- 75. Paul Van Dyk- For an Angel
- We’ve all heard this one too.
- 76. Second Sun- Empire (Paul Van Dyk Remix)
- A nice progressive song. I think it’s really….. adventurous.
- 77. Angeli & Nelson- Holding Onto Nothing
- Another beautiful vocal track by A&N. The girls voice in this song is really nice, and the music matches it perfectly. I’m just hearing this one, so it will probably move up the list.
- 78. Apotheosis- O Fortuna
- When someone goes and uses your song as a sample, you should get all mad about it. Because of that, this song is hard to find now, so I had to download it… it’s not even on itunes. This is a song that would sound good in one of my favorite kind of night clubs… GOTH NIGHTCLUBS!!!! It does kind of get a little annoying though, when those chopped up voices keep playing like that after the first chorus, but that’s not too bad.
- 79. The Roc Project ft. Tina Arena- Never (Tiesto remix)
- I could see this song growing on me in the future. I LOVE this!!!! The lyrics are ok, and her voice is alright, and ONCE AGAIN, big T puts his spin on things.
- 80. Lost Tribe- Gamemaster (Michael Woods Remix/ Matt Darey’s 2003 remix)
- This is a great song as well. Mixes two good songs together, and adds some vocals that make you feel like you’re in a space ship and you have one of those computers that talk to you. Those are my two favorite mixes, but the original is good as well.
- 81. Underworld- Dark Train
- “Like a train…Dark Train… Like a train… Dark Train…..”
- Another dark sounding song. It’s got some angelic choir voices in there as well. That melody is one that is very familiar sounding, and definitely a hot one that anyone can dance to.
- 82. Gouryella- Wallhalla
- I think this is the best of the gouryella project. It’s a song that says to you…”I promise.” I don’t know why I think that, but that’s what I get from it. It can be a romantic one as well. You know who I’d like to see Tiesto form a group with? Aphex Twin. Yeah, imagine that. It would be called… “Conjoined”
- 83. Balil- Parasight
- The beginning of this song reminds me of L.S.G.’s hearts. This song has a nice looping melody to it as well.
- 84. Lords of Acid- I sit on Acid
- “I wanna sit on your face….” God this song is just straight dirty, and nasty and I like it.
- 85. Hallucinogen- Shamanix
- The way I’m going I don’t think I’ll get any sleep this year… I’m on FUCKING FIRE!!!!!!!
- God I love that song. Like I said earlier, the whole Twisted album is great, so more tracks from it will definitely be on this list.
- 86. PPK- Resurrection (Space Club Mix)
- Whooooa ayyyy……this is a nice one. This makes me think of my favorite Dragonball Z saga which is the Frieza saga where everyone goes to planet Namek, and they’ve got their space gear on, and Gohan’s got that cool looking bowl cut… god that bowl cut was great…Then Goku turns into a super sayan for the first time and kicks Frieza’s ass.
- 87. Signum- Timelord (Signum’s Spectral Balance)
- A nice progressive tune that I now consider to be one of Signum’s greatest works. Very relaxing song this one is.
- 88. Future Prophecies- Final Fantasy
- A nice Drum and Bass song off of Midnight Club 3. Got some vocal samples in there.
- 89. Veracocha- Carte Blanche
- This is a nice classic song with some piano in it. I also think this would be good in a goth club.
- 90. Oceanlab- Satellite (Original Above and Beyond Mix (Armin Van Buuren Remix)
- Great song. Justine’s voice is killer as always.
- 91. The Quest- C- Sharp
- I love the melody in this song. I said last time, it’d probably move up the list, but uh… it hasn’t. I still like it though.
- 92. Smith & Mighty- B-Line Fi Blow
- A simple D&B song with some African sounding vocals in it. It’ll get you dancing trust me…
- 93. James Holden- Horizon
- Reminds me of Xpander. I think this one will grow on me.
- 94. Robert Miles- Children (Dream Version)
- Nice piano song, and a nice component to gamemaster.
- 95. Delerium- Euphoria [Firefly] (Rabbit in the moon’s Divine Gothic disco mix)
- So it’s at #88… but this is a song has actually grown on me. It’s a song that’s like 9 minutes long, and I love how the beats shift in the beginning. This would be a GREAT song to play in a goth club as well. This will get a person to bounce a little. Then, everything kind of quiets down and some choir voices come in, then we get some lyrics from a girl with a nice voice. Then when she’s done singing, that beat explodes right back in, and the bouncing continues. After that you hear her breathing all over the track, and it sounds great.
- 96. Airscape- Sosei (F&W remix)
- Nice melody to this song.
- 97. 4 strings- Jewel
- Once again, we have another nice melody.
- 98. Stunt- Raindrops
- This is a REEEALLY girly song that I won’t play unless the chick to dude ratio is right in my favor. This one reminds me somewhat of Café Del Mar.
- 99. Pulser- Cloudwalking
- This is a great anthem song from Tiesto’s magik series. The only part I don’t like about this song is the part in the middle where that announcer starts speaking. I bet Tiesto couldn’t even understand what the guy was saying… I bet all he heard was “blah blah blah blah DJ Tiesto blah blah blaaaaaaah… (Crowd Cheers)” That part should have been in a different song.
- 100. Chicane- Offshore (Disco Citizens Edit)
- OHHHH YEAH!!!!!! This is what I’m talking about. This one is more danceable, and that’s what we want. That’s what we want…
- Ok, so there’s my top 100 of the moment. Now for 101-200, I’m probably not going to add my AMAZING descriptions to all of them, if any of them, but I’ll list them.
- 101. Benassi Bros.- Castaway
- 102. High Contrast- Tread Softly
- 103. Telepopmusik- Into Everything- this will probably move up the list, as I think that this is an amazing song, but I’ve only just heard it…
- 104. Lords of Acid- Undress and Possess
- 105. Tiesto- Traffic
- 106. Coldplay- Speed of Sound (C-64 Remix) Another song just like Call on Me and PATT. I wonder what trance like this is called…
- 107. Luminary- Amsterdam (Smith and Pledger Remix)
- 108. VNV Nation- Dark Angel (Apoptygma Berzerk Remix)
- 109. Faithless ft. Penny Shaw- Drifting Away
- 110. Aurora- Ordinary World
- 111. Synergy- Hello Strings
- 112. Miranda- Gnocchi
- 113. Moonbeam- Cocoon
- 114. New Order- Confusion (Pump Panel Reconstruction)- Oh, and by the way, that is the best opening to a movie, EVER!!!!! GOD that was so cool. I’m talking about the movie “Blade.” You’ve got to make the pitch of the song higher to make it sound like it does in the movie.
- 115. Gouryella- Tenshi (Transa Remix)
- 116. CJ Bolland- The Prophet
- 117. Signum- Second Wave- A really awesome song by Signum. The only reason this is so low, is because I haven’t listened to it that much lately.
- 118. Tiesto- Sparkles (Transa Mix)- This remix sounds really different from the original.
- 119. Airwave- Alone in the dark- Great riff melody.
- 120. Hallucinogen- Solstice- Another great song on the twisted album, which is really the only good GOA I’ve heard so far.
- 121. L.S.G.- Hearts
- 122. Rui Da Silva- Touch Me (Tiesto Remix)
- 123. ATB- Ecstasy – Easily one of the best songs I’ve heard by ATB.
- 124. Rabbit in the Moon- Deeper – A really calm tune, with some hypnotizing vocals.
- 125. Bodyrox- What Planet You On- This is a jam. For some reason, it reminds me of that song “Holla back girl” by Gwen Stefani.
- 126. Binary Finary- 1999 ( Gouryella Remix) – Really, this is the best version of the song I’ve heard so far, even though it’s just the beginning of “gouryella” being played over it. Why do all of the “years” of the tune sound the same? All they did was steal from Marco Picotto’s “Lizard,” or was it the other way around?
- 127. Rank 1- Airwave
- 128. Push- The Legacy
- 129. Three Drives on a Vinyl- Greece 2000
- 130. Aphex Twin- Digeridoo – Hey what do you know!!!! Another AFX tune!!!! The acid in this one is pretty crazy. It just makes you think of a rain forsest, or a jungle.
- 131. Underworld- Born Slippy
- 132. Angeli & Nelson- El Nino (Tiesto Live at Innercity version)
- 133. Nightcrawlers- Push the Feeling On 2003
- 134. Jamiroquai- Supersonic (Pete Heller Remix)
- 135. Paragliders- Oasis
- 136. Aphex Twin- Polygon Window
- 137. Logistics- The Trip
- 138. Andain- Beautiful Things (Gabriel and Dredsen Remix)- A nice video I found on YouTube helped me find this song. I think tiesto was playing this, and the girl was singing. She was muy caliente.
- 139. Conjure One- Tears from the moon (Tiesto Remix)- At around the four minute mark, this song gets you jumping. I like how Tijs puts his spin on things once more!
- 140. UKW- Hypnotic
- 141. Mike Oldfield- Moonlight Shadow- A great DDR song, and just a great song to listen to.
- 142. BT featuring Tori Amos- Blue Skies (Rabbit in the Moon’s Phathomless mix)- Her voice is so sexy in the opening part. This is a great song that will probably move up in future lists.
- 143. DJ Kaycee- Escape – A tune that was in my earlier collection. I still love it. It was on my old iPod shuffle along with “THE SONG” that I never got the name of, and is in my eyes considered the best trance song ever, even better than….. Halcyon…… If only someone could ID the sample of it I made and I could find it again…..
- 144. Russian Bounce- Kisa (DJ Yan Remix)- I don’t know if this song is on discogs, but I saw this on Youtube, then I… grabbed it off of limewire. It’s a great “techno” song, and I like the guy’s voice in this (not to be gay or anything). It’s really hypnotizing.
- 145. DJ Mangoo- Eurodancer- One of the tunes in my early collection. I love the piano in the beginning.
- 146. Rank 1- Awakening (Cosmic Gate Remix)
- 147. Quench- Dreams- This is a good one. I like how they make use of the bells. I like that part when everything is hushed, and those bells keep dinging in that pattern (it only loops twice though…) I wish there was a remix to that song where that part was looped more often.
- 148. P.O.S.- Gravity
- 149. Paul Oakenfold- Silence (DJ Tiesto Remix)- Ah, Sarah McLahlan’s voice is just great. That’s an understatement of course… I still don’t think her voice is better than Kirsty’s though…
- 150. Daft Punk- Alive
- 151. Andy Moor- Halcyon [Alex MORPH remix]- This will probably move up too. If you’re going to name a song Halcyon, it had better be good, and this one was. It doesn’t reach the feet of Orbital’s tune though.
- 152. Orbital- Lush 3-1- Ah, a song on the same album as Halcyon. This is a good song. For some reason, I get an asian feel from it.
- 153. Underworld- Beautiful Burnout- I love the vocals in this one
- 154. The Ambush- Acapulco- Another song where the vocals make the song.
- 155. William Orbit- Water from a vine leaf- TUNE!!!!! This is a well done progressive song.
- 156. Alice Deejay and Tupac- Hit’em up vs. Better off Alone – Ya’ll hit ‘em up, dat n*gga quiet as fuck, he ain’t got shit to say!!!!” That’s my favorite line!! I also like when he says, “Mash dey ass,” that’s what I think going into a game.
- 157. Eiffel 65- I’m Blue (Any remix)- This is a song that got me into EDM. We’ve ALL heard this one. It’s really infectious. “I’n Blue dab a dee da ba do die…do dabba deeeee daba die
- 158. System F- Out of the Blue- System F… I can tell you this… there’s going to be some tunes by system f that will be near the top of my list next time.
- 159. Ferry Corsten vs Thrillseekers- Sublime
- 160. Apoptygma Berzerk- Kathy’s Song (Victoria Remix by VNV Nation)- Ah, they work well together. VNV and AB. Definitely going to look out for anything by Apoptygma Berzerk.
- 161. The Prodigy- Charly (Alley Cat Mix)- Heh heh, that depressed cat just meowing throughout the track… and the little kid “Mommy says---.“ Great track that’ll get the place bouncing.
- 162. Hallucinogen- Dark Magus- Ayyyyyyy…. More GOA from Hallucinogen.
- 163. Akcent- Kylie (Very Long Orgasm- Extended)- This is a very catchy song!!!!
- 164. Ayla- Ayla (Taucher Remix)
- 165. Gus Gus- Purple (Sasha vs The Light Remix)- Another good song off of Tranceport
- 166. Nathan Fake- The Sky was Pink (James Holden Remix)
- 167. Yahel and A-Force- Behind Silence- It’s got vocals from “Liquid Love”
- 168. Art of Trance- Easter Island (Cygnus X Remix)
- 169. Sasha- Wavy Gravy
- 170. Salt Tank- Eugina (Tiesto Remix) GREAT REMIX!!!! Tiesto, you’ve done it again man, you’ve don it again…..
- 171. Gouryella- Ligaya
- 172. Fragma- Toca’s Miracle
- 173. Paragliders- Paraglide
- 174. Bodyrox- Yeah Yeah(Turbo Club remix)- This will be much higher on the list next time.
- 175. Juno Reactor- Samurai- An asian sounding song that’s okay.
- 176. Tiesto- ft. Christian Burns- In the dark- A really romantic song. Not something to listen to when hanging with dudes. It just makes the mood feel….. well…. Gay.
- 177. ATC- Around the world (lala lalala)- “It goes around the world just la la la la la…” This is a song I heard on imeem.com. A whole lot of people had this on their playlist.
- 178. Brooklyn Bounce- The music’s got me- Brooklyn bounce was one of my early favorites.
- 179. Benni Benassi- Satisfaction- A big bang song for me as well.
- 180. Chicane- Red Skies
- 181. Brooklyn Bounce- Bass Beats & Melody
- 182. Daft Punk- Technologic
- 183. Drax LTd.II- Amphetamine
- 184. Kamiya Painters- Endless Wave
- 185. VNV Nation- Rubicon
- 186. Faithless- Insomnia
- 187. Minimalistics- Struggle for Pleasure- Café Del Mar was based on this song.
- 188. Jurgen Vries- Wilderness
- 189. Accadia- Into the Dawn (James Holden Remix)- This song will either be taken off the list, or move up next time….
- 190. Way out west- Ajare- So will this song. Those vocals will either get annoying, or catchy, (kind of like Two Months Off)
- 191. Bass Hunter- Boten Anna
- 192. Atlantic Ocean- Waterfall
- 193. Union Jack- Two full moons and a trout- just hearing this one. I heard Red Herring, and I didn’t think it was that good. In fact, I found it very boring.
- 194. Gravity Kills- Down (Lords of Acid Power Mix)
- 195. Space Planet- Orbital Trance
- 196. DJ Dean- Dreamworld
- BONUS MINI LIST!!!!! YAYYY
- Songs that people said were great, but I don’t like that much:
- 1. Ame Rej- What’s so great about this song again?! Booooring…. I’ve listened to it a few times, but couldn't find a reason why it’s great, but people seem to like it..
- 2. Dance 2 Trance- We came in peace- yeah, this track is boring as well. That beat is not doing it for me. I know it was probably the first trance song made, and it was considered good at the time or whatever, but it never did anything for me.
- 3. Dance 2 Trance- Power of American Natives- omg I HATE this song!!!!!!!!!!! There aren’t many songs I can say that I hate, but this is one of them. I can’t stand to listen to it, and therefore I don’t. Those vocals get on my nerves.
- 4. Aril Brikah- Winter- Yeah, I don’t really like this one either.
- 5. Man with no name- Teleport – A boring GOA song.
- 6. Hardfloor- Aceperience 1- I gave this one so many listens to see if I could find something in it I liked, but, sadly, I could not.
- 7. Astral Projection- Mahadeva- There’s just better goa out there than this.
- 8. Union Jack- Red Herring
- 9. ATB- 9 pm til I come- God this song is annoying, those little string noises get on my nerves!!!
- 10. ATB- Don't Stop- Same as above.
- 11. Cygnus X- Superstring - Just not that good in my opinion.
- 12. Spicelab- Amorph- Just did nothing for me.
- 13. Orbital- Satan- Yeah, you'd think I'd like this song, but no.... this one's not good.
- 14. Josh Wink- Higher State of Consciousness
- Are you kidding me?! This is one of the most annoying songs I've ever heard!!! I don't know what folks see in loud ass acid noises like that, but, hey, they see something. That's coming from a guy who doesn't like that thing in "Age of Love"
- 15. BBE seven days and one week
- I mean, it's an okay song, but I don't listen to it often. I'm sure i'd dance to it though.
- 16. Yahel- Voyage This was a boring one as well...
- 17. The Orb- A huge pulsating brain that..... yeah, that song.
- 18 minutes of blaaaaah..... I heard good things about this song. At about 11 minutes on my third listen, I decided it wasn't good enough, plus, I was thinking about listening to Suburban Train...
- 19. Allure We ran at Dawn- Speaking of big Tijs... I love tiesto to death man, but this track didn't do it for me.
Author Comments:
To the folks at t.nu:"ayyyyy.... once again... I'd like to thank you for reading my February list. If you wanna suggest a tune, then send me a message and I will gladly listen to the tune. Anything is welcome. ANYTHING. Once again, thanks for taking the time to look at this list.

well, i think your list is just... jibber jabber man. having a deftones remix as the 3rd best track?? i mean come on, ans besides that minilist... age of love, rej, we came in peace and ahegpbtrftcotu boring songs?? u really have a lot of work and listening to do. furthermore, the good songs are way too low. another thing that hurts is what you said about café del mar... maybe its breakdown (and buildup) is long, but it just isnt cliche as the ones in suburban train... cafe del amr practically invented the breakdown-buildups, and if it didnt it was the best song to have one at first. at the time these kind of structures were really new and avant-garde (not like today, suburban train as example again... besides those nonsense uplifting synths that that kind of trance has... horrible for gods sake)
i have nothing against you publishing your own list and expressing your opinion, but u really need some grounds to make statements like the ones u make (café del mar, rej, age of love) anyway, halcyon is an incredible song, a sophisticated choice as numer 1.
PS: maybe i support you with red herring, since cactus is SOOOOO much better.
hey good call with union jack - cactus! I was going to bash you for saying that that track is better than Red Herring - which I also have in my personal top 10 - but then I realized that the cactus track I have must be mislabelled, because I checked out the 10min version on Youtube and it sounds pretty awesome actually. :)
awesome list. I've been listening to trance since 1999... not as a rave-going scenester but just as someone who loves the music. As I rebuild my iPod playlist your list is helping me remember so many songs I'd forgotten over the years... and discover some new ones. I can see where your list would offend the hip types but... music doesn't cease to be good just because it becomes popular. Keep up the great list.
