Jon Blount's House/Trance/Techno Tunes Top69

Tags:
  • Here is an updated list from the last one. I plan on making a much longer list of tunes, but right now, this is just the top 40.
  • 1. Orbital- Halcyon
  • In my eyes, (or should I say ears) this is what a trance song should sound like. I first found this song when I was trying to download on & on off of Limewire… I must’ve accidentally clicked this one. But when I first heard it, to be honest, I didn’t like it AS much… but I listened to it for two hours straight that night while looking at people’s artwork on deviantart.com…. then it just started to grow on me, and soon, I couldn’t let a day go by without that song being played at least 10 times….
  • Starts off with these angelic voices chanting getting louder and louder until they reach a limit. Then some dreamy sound comes in, then we get some guitar sounds (or mandolin sounds), then that amazing bass line comes in. After that loops a little bit we the chanting stops and we get this breakbeat thing going on and then the chanting comes right back, only to stop again shortly after. A whole new loop of angelic voices is introduced and then the chanting comes back for good, and so does the bassline, and the song starts to build up. By the time it reaches about 5:30 it layers EVERYTHING you’ve heard from the song thus far, and it just sounds great. Then it gets louder and louder until….. that bass line is dropped, and the song slows down some. But it builds again later.
  • The vocals on here aren’t even considered to be vocals, just sounds that enhance the track. I think it’s pure genius on how they took them out of that one song “It’s a fine day” and reversed them and made it sound so good…. People tell me that the remix to this song is much better, but I disagree. The remix pales in comparison to the original. The ambient, 11:10 original does it for me.
  • 2. MFA- The Difference it Makes
  • The bass line to this song is a beast. It’s really, a simple song, with some distorted vocals in it, but it’s just the way that bass line changes. I like how in the middle of the song they take the bass out, and just play the vocals. That really just puts you in the zone. This is one of a few songs that just remind you…. There really IS hope for you…..
  • 3. Eric Prydz- Call on Me (Radio Edit)
  • The first time I heard this song, was in this high school basketball mix video on Veoh.com. After that, I googled the lyrics, and I found out what the song was called. Then I watched the video repeatedly, (which is by the way, the BEST music video I’ve ever seen.) The thing I love about this song is how it takes the original “Valerie” song and makes it sound “techish” and then it just repeats that phrase that gets stuck in your head no matter who you are…… “Call on meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee caaaaall on me!!!!!” MAN I love that song!
  • 4. Darude- Sandstorm
  • This is the big bang of trance for me. This is one of the first songs trance songs I ever heard. I was at a dance during the summer of my 8th Grade year at this Summer Studies Camp, and they played a bunch of rap music, and “punk rock” music. Then in the middle, they played Sandstorm, and things just lit up… I remember me and some friends were dancing with these hot Asian chicks at the time, and the mood was perfect. That simple catchy anthem is just the thing to get you moving on the dance floor, and in my opinion, THE best song to dance to.
  • 5. Sasha- Xpander
  • That progressiveness again. We’ve all heard this one, so we know what it’s all about. I especially love when it “explodes” near the end, you know, when it starts playing the melody, and then it kind of fades out and then all is still, and we get some skipping sounds and then…… BOOM!!! Great song man….
  • 6. Oceanlab- Clear Blue Water (Ferry Corsten Remix)
  • The best vocal song out there in my opinion. (I don’t consider Halcyon, and Call on me to be vocal trance) This lady has a beautiful voice (like most trance vocalists do) and what she says is kind of catchy, it makes you want to sing a long with her….. “Cleeeeeeeeeeear Bluuuuuue Waaaaaaaaaaterrrrrr………” And I love how the music matches the lyrics perfectly. Ferry did an unreal job on this remix, as it is one of the best I’ve heard.
  • 7. Telepopmusik- Breathe
  • Another big bang of trance for me. I can’t remember where I first heard this, but I do remember hearing it on a car commercial… (but that wasn’t the first time…) It’s just a relaxing song, and I love how it builds up at the end and then quietly goes away…. When I listen to this song, I imagine me in a Nike commercial like the Lebron James one in a black room where I’m just doing all kinds of crossovers, and passes, and jumpshots, and then at the big buildup, I take off from the free throw line for a dunk, and the camera captures it in slow motion from different angles, and then the backboard shatters…. And at the very end Im standing in the glass as it all shatters (Slow motion of course) looking like a dragonball Z character or something and then it fades to black and the Nike symbol appears….. yea yeah.
  • 8. Holden & Thompson – Nothing (93 Returning Mix)
  • I don’t know what those vocals originally said, but I know I love the way he put them in this song to make them sound so good… I mean, that’s just weird. The music is what really grabs me though. I can’t describe it that well… all I can say is you have GOT to hear this song if you haven’t. Personally, I like the 5 minute version better.
  • 9. Lucas & Beltram – Trust Me ( Ava Mea Remix)
  • This song has really grown on me. The intro is like smoke clearing after an explosion and that bass just starts thump thump thumpin. Then there comes a bass line that is REALLY nice. Then it soars into a highly danceable beat with a bass line that says to you just what the name of the song says, “Trust Me……” Then it slows down, and during this “eye of the storm period,” there are some electric piano sounding notes and some angelic voices that come in and you just listen in awe… then the beats come back with those voices and those crazy “piano sounds” again, and it’s like wow, that was an adventure. If I were a DJ, I’d play this song in the middle of the “set” or whatever after everyone’s all “loosened up” or whatever. (P.S. you can see why I’m not a dj…heh heh….)
  • 10 Nathan Fake- Outhouse (James Holden Remix)
  • James Holden is a beast. I’m going to start looking for more of HIS stuff. This song is kind of dark sounding, but not really. Another song with an amazing bassline. It’s really danceable, and the bass is great in this song. It’s an 8.5 minute song, but it really flies by.
  • 11.Tiesto – Suburban Train (Original ) / (Vocal Version ft. Children of Orpheus)
  • One of the first actually GOOD Tiesto songs I got off of Limewire during my “Trance = ‘techno’” phase. This song wins the award for the best buildup I mean, just love how this song teases you. First he makes it build up, and get all fast and make the sounds get all high pitched, and you think it’s about to happen, but then he slows it down…. But not to worry, that same part repeats again, except this time, at the end of the sequence we get that takeoff!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I can see why it’s called Suburban Train. The first version I heard was actually in a video on Youtube, where he started the song off on the buildup, and I thought OMG that’s just a crazy intro!!!! But when I actually downloaded the song I was like “Oh, there IS a 3 minute breakdown…. Then I saw the version with the children singing in it, and that was even crazier. Those childrens voices just “ah ah ah aaaaaaaah “ all over the track making it sound complete. Their voices match the pitch of the song, and then they shut up at the big takeoff. I like both versions.
  • 12 Hallucinogen- LSD
  • To be quite honest, I find most GOA trance boring and anti-climactic. But I believe I like the Hallucinogen project though. I think the whole Twisted album is actually pretty great, the 8 best GOA songs I’ve heard so far…..(better than “teleport” and “Mahadeva”) I love how LSD begins… with those vocals, and in the middle the lady rambles on about LSD saying how you can have a “religious experience”. The last two minutes of this song is the best. All of those various sounds and that loud “acid noise” in the background…. How does he make that sound so good?! Then suddenly “HE’S LOSING HIS MIND AND FEELS IT GOING!!!!!!!” that’s a great song.
  • 13 LSG- Netherworld (Original)/ (Oliver Prime Remix)
  • I once said that “Oasis” is my favorite Lieb track. I terribly lied…. Netherworld is just what it sounds like, with those demonic sounds occasionally coming in, and then this wailing sound gets in on the action too… but my favorite part is that melody of light riffs. That is just great. The original version is more upbeat, and a little more dancible, but my favorite is the more ambient Oliver Prime version on ISOS 4 Latin America. I love how this starts off ( nothing like the original) and then at the 1 minute mark, everything hushes, and then those riffs quietly make their way into the mix…. And then they play for most of the song.
  • 14 Solar Stone- Seven Cities (Armin Van Buuren Remix)
  • Yes!!!! I love how this song is formatted!!!! It starts out really high energy, and then it slows down for about 16 seconds, and then when it comes back, that bass is thumping even harder and that energy is even higher!!!!! Then we slow it down for that guitar melody…. And then finally, we get back to that energy. When I first let my friends listen to this, they said “Yeah, that’s what a techno song should sound like…”
  • 15. VNV Nation- Legion (Apoptygma Berzerk Remix)
  • Yeah, this VNV Nation group I love how they Sound. That guy has such a way with words, and this beat is nasty. It’s got angelic voices howling in The background. The lyrics are dark and apocalyptic like most of the things I’ve heard by VNV Nation so far. This is an excellent song.
  • 16 Push- Universal Nation 2003
  • The buildup to this song is great as well. I think that this is one of the more “Hype” songs out there. When I listen to this it makes me feel…. Energetic….
  • 17. Cygnus X- The Orange Theme (Ferry Corsten Remix)/ (Rank 1 Remix)/ (Solarstone Remix)
  • I’m not entirely sure if a “Rank 1” remix really exists, but that’s what this song is labeled. It’s the one that starts out really quietly with just the bassline then sounds one by one get added on to it until it builds up and dives right into the middle of what sounds just like the Ferry Corsten Remix…. But anyway… yeah, this song is another memorable anthem song that I’ve always loved. I first heard it as a sample project on Fruity Loops Studio (I think version 3 or something) and I was like, hmm... I gotta find the real version to this…. And yeah, the rest was history.
  • 18 “Big Oakey” ft. Carla Werner– Southern Sun ( Tiesto Remix)
  • Great song, great vocals, great remix. And plus the chick in the video is hot. (And, apparently, literally as well….) Plus, I looked up these vocals, but yet, they don’t seem to match what she’s saying, maybe she has an accent or something… otherwise, I’d be singin it.
  • 19. The Thrillseekers ft. Sheryl Dean – Synaesthesia (Fly Away)
  • “I need to know the reasons why………..” “If I giiiiive devotion………. Will ya shooooooow emotion….. or will you flyyyyy and flyyyyy away… (FLY AWAY!!!)
  • Aw…. These lyrics are so cheesy, but I don’t even give a damn. I love the music in the background. I’ve heard every version of this song one can think of but none is better than the 2001 3:48 version. I first had the Ferry Corsten Remix, which I disliked because of the long breakdown and yes, lack of cheesy vocals. And like most vocalists, she’s hot and puts on a good live performance.
  • 20 “Aphex Twin and Robert Miles”- “Rare Duet”
  • Yeah, so what discogs doesn’t have info on this (yes I soulseeked this), which also means that we don’t know who the real producers are, but who cares, this is absolutely one of the most well put together songs I’ve heard. It reminds me of one of those PBS informercials where they have these weird computerized machine thingies playing music in weird ways……
  • 21 Push- Strange World
  • Ah, yet another one from big MIKE. This is also a song that I really liked since my “trance = techno” phase, in fact I got it the same night I got suburban train. There was once a time when this was my favorite song, but times change, and who knows what could happen…. People say that the 2000 remake is better but I’d have to disagree. It doesn’t have that breakbeat part in it that I like….
  • But like the orange theme, this is a very catchy anthem song.
  • 22 The Future Sound of London- (You already know……)
  • Oh yeah!!!! I love how it starts with this tribalish drum rhythm, and then progresses into a breakbeat with some voices in the background, and then finally that bass line and that piano??!!!! Are you kidding me?!!! How kind two of the weirdest guys make one of the most influential songs of the early 90s?!!! They sure do live up to their name…. This song just lets you know, that there’s still hope….. BTW if you haven’t figured, out, I’m talking about Papua New Guinea.
  • 23 Angelli & Nelson – Wear that dress (John O Callaghan Remix)
  • Thank god for imeem.com or I would’ve NEVER heard this. It sounds like it’s a pop song that has been remixed, but I don’t care. Those guitar chords are sick, and it’s got a bouncy techish tune behind it similar to that of Cascada’s “Everytime we touch.” The vocals aren’t that bad either. Apparently he wants a girl to wear that he’s seen, a dress that “does it to him”, and he doesn’t care if it looks cheap, in fact, I think he likes that more.
  • 24 Dumonde- Never Look Back (Tiesto Remix)
  • Everytime I’m running the mile (In 5:54 sec btw….) I think of this song. “This is my truth……. I-I-IIIII I never look back….” I mean this song just pumps you up… you want to do what the title says and Never look behind you… just keep doing what you’re doing….
  • Funny story, during my “trance=techno” stage, I thought this was Tiesto’s song……
  • 25 Airscape- L’Esperanza (Armin Van Buuren’s Rising Star Remix)
  • “La esperanza!!! Za! Za! Za! Za! za za………….
  • Another song gem that was in my early “techno” collection. Apparently, the user I downloaded this from on Limewire thought this was the BEST GODAMN RAVE SONG, because that’s what It was labeled. Thanks to the kind sirs at TranceAddict, this song was IDed. For some reason, I get an asian feel to this song. But yeah, another anthem that is memorable to me, and always will be. Thanks to this song being played in my car at full blast, I almost wrecked…..
  • 26 Chicane- Saltwater (Original)/ (Thrillseekers Remix)
  • This used to be like my second favorite song after Halcyon (The thrillseekers version, that is). I just love how this sounds like some kind of church song, and it’s so relaxing… this is one of the songs I’m ashamed of listening to out loud though, because I think it’s romantic sounding. I’ll listen to the original out loud though. Of course, since the vocals are in a different language (some kind of celtic language or something…) I don’t understand them, but who cares, they’re angelic voices, and I love angelic voices…
  • 27 Daft Punk- Startdust
  • “Oooooh, baaaaabe………… I feel like…..the music’s just better with yoooou……”
  • Those vocals, and that guitar is what makes this song so amazing. It’s like a disco song, or something, and I love it, especially when you’re listening to it full blast in the car with that bass up high, and you and your friends are just goin crazy and the people in the next car are just staring like “WTF….:
  • 28 Hybrid- Finished Symphony
  • This is the ULTIMATE sad song. I listened to this when my coach got fired, and yeah, it suited the mood. I love a good breakbeat trance song, but this one also has some orchestra like sounds on it which is great. Gotta get the 6 minute edit.
  • 29 The PQM – “You are Sleeping Luke Chable Vocal Mix
  • “You pick up this working girl….. hooked on smack…. Hustles and scores…. That’s all I do she says, she says, 10 bucks for head, 15 for half and half, she says that’s 3 hits a day at 35 per, you say that’s seven tricks a day a least…. She says….. sometimes…. IIII geeet lucky… once this guy gives me a bill and a half just to eat me…. Only time I ever came (only time I ever came)”
  • Scary sounding….. I had to listen to this twice to realize “Hey this songs about a prostitute!!!!” But anyway, I love how this song just sounds so dark and danceable…. And the asian sounding guy saying YOUyouyouAREareareSLEEPeepeepINGinging. After The Difference it makes, this is easily the best song on Balance 005.
  • 30 VNV Nation – “Honour” (Juno Reactor Remix)
  • “Stand your ground this is what we are fighting for…. Our spirt, laws and ways….cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war, for heaven or hell, we shall not wait….”
  • THE “Get-Hype” Song for me. I always listen to this before a game or when I’m about to enter some sort of competition, even if its like a history test I’ve been studying hard for or something. With lyrics like that, and a war like beat in the background, how can you not get amped by this song?! I’ve never heard the original, but I don’t care. I like this version, that’s all I know. God, this makes you wanna fuck someone up….
  • 31 Phynn-Lucid
  • On trance.nu someone posted this as one of their favorite songs. I gave it a listen, and thought, Damn, that anthem is so catchy!!! I just wish there was a version where it came a little earlier, and looped a little longer, but hey, that’s what makes you wanna hit that back button and play it again.
  • 32 Alice Deejay vs 2pac – Hit ‘em up
  • “Yall hit’em up that man quiet as FUCK got he ain’t got SHIT to say!!!!
  • Ok, maybe it’s because I’ve always listened to rap or something, but when I found this song on my friends computer, I was like whoa….one of my favorite songs during my trance=techno days, Better Off Alone is mixed in with one of 2pacs rants about Notorious B.I.G, and the whole east side. One of my friends, Brandon, is from New York, and me and my diesel ass friend Kemp like to play this song loud in the car while Brandon’s driving and we say stuff like YEAH N**GA FUCK NEW YORK!!!!! NEW YORK AIN’T SHIT N**GA!!!!!! *sigh* good times…..
  • 33 Underground Resistance- High Tech Jazz
  • Also an early favorite. You’ve probably guessed that I didn’t hear this until Midnight Club 3 came out. Yeah, you’re right. I just love how all of the jazzy instruments are on top of a house-ish beat. It also has some sounds in it that make it sound like something out of a Sonic (the hedgehog) Game.
  • 34 Future Prophecies- Final Fantasy
  • Another midnight Club track I fell in love with. It is THE drum and base song for me. The vocals in this song help complete it, as they don’t come to often, and there is also a loop of I guess “synth notes” that play over the fast pace drum and bass beat.
  • 35 Energy 52- (What do you THINK I’m gonna say…..)/ Fragma-Man in the Moon
  • Actually, this was one of the songs I had earlier, but never realized it. I never listened to the whole thing back then. It was something that I accidentally downloaded, and never listened to. I didn’t like it. When, I did start listening to it after I find out that it is a classic, and considered to be one of the best songs ever, I hated that 5 minute breakdown. But, after that breakdown, yes there is one helluva melody, that is so offbeat, but at the same time, sounds right. Every time I listen to that song, all I do is skip to the part with the melody, so that’s why I put down Fragma’s man in the moon, because basically, all that song is is the Café Del Mar Melody with some vocals. But yeah, it is a highly loopable melody that I could listen to for maybe 10 minutes on the dance floor before I get tired of it… and ten minutes is a long time…
  • 36 Moby- Bittersweet Symphony (Techno Remix)
  • I love the original song by the Verve. I first heard this song in an amv (anime music video) and I loved it from that point on. That violin melody is just looped over and over again, and it’s just what a fan of the original like me wants.
  • 37 Daft Punk – One more time
  • “Music’s gotta me feelin so free, we gonna Celebrate”
  • Killer Music video, even better song. This is also a big bang song for me. We’ve all heard it so there’s no need to go into detail on this one.
  • 38 Aphex Twin- Xtal
  • Yes, this has potential to move up the list. It reminds me of Halcyon so much…. But there are no angelic vocals……
  • 39 Ayla- Angelfalls (Waterfall and Particular Beach)
  • Now this one was a good tune. It starts out with some beats, and a loop that sounds like something out of a horror movie, then, it slows down and we get the “angelfalls…. “ vocal. Then that piano comes in. God I love that piano. Then as the piano is playing, this chorus of angelic voices gets louder and louder, then the beats gradually push their way back in and the voices are getting louder and then….. CLASH…. We get that awesome anthem!!!!!! That’s the waterfall version, which is my favorite. The PB version is good to, but it has no anthem, just a kind of breakbeat beginning, and then the angelic voices. Because of the use of my favorite instrument in trance (angelic vocals) this has potential to move up.) Let me tell you what this song is like:
  • Ok, when the song begins, it’s like you’re are running through a dark jungle, trying to find your way out…. Then when the song drops the bass, it’s like you come to a part that’s starting to get lighter….
  • Then, when that piano plays, you push some plants aside, and suddenly you see this beautiful scene, with a giant waterfall, bright green plants, colorful flowers, and butterflies. Then, you look closer, and when those angelic voices start to come in, you see this beautiful looking angel woman with wings, and she starts walking towards you, and you can’t help but to walk towards her…. Then as the song starts to pick up, you begin uh…. “frisking” the angel, and the angel starts “frisking” you back, and then when that anthem finally explodes into the mix, it’s like you’re havin that wild sex with the angel woman…
  • Yeah.
  • 40 Above and Beyond- Can’t Sleep (ATB Remix)
  • Once again, thank god for imeem.com. Beautiful vocals, with a nice trance tune behind it. Apparently this girl uh…. Can’t sleep. I can’t really describe the beat to this song, so all I can say is GET IT!!!
  • 41 Rabbit in The Moon- Out of Body Experience
  • Yes. Another song that just is really well put together. It’s really slow and ambient in the beginning, and goes into something a little faster by the end. Of course, you know that my favorite part of the song is when that girl gets on there and starts going, “ aaaaAAAAAhhEEEEEEEEEEEEE……”
  • 42 Jonas Steur- Silent Waves
  • The strings on this song are so great, specially at the end when it plays that melody over that strings pattern. This is a danceable tune as well.
  • 43 Benni Bennassi- Deepest Blue
  • This song reminds me of Stardust for some reason. To call this trance, would be somewhat of a stretch, because I would say that it kind of sounds like an American pop song or something. I love the lyrics to this song, and every time I play it, I sing along with it. This is also a very danceable tune as well.
  • 44 Art of Noise- Moments in Love (Full Version)
  • I first heard this song on an R&B music station on a part where the show hosts were talking about what’s coming up the next hour. Some don’t consider this trance simply for that reason. If you were to hear the song, you’d know that it IS trance. It’s got this amazing instrument in it that sounds like maybe it’s a harp or something…. Yeah, that’s my favorite. There’s also a version of this song with Martin Luther King’s “ I have a dream speech” being played over it, which is pretty cool as well.
  • 45 Age of Love- Age of Love (Jam & Spoons Watch out for Stella Mix)
  • One of the first trance songs ever made, and one of the best. This song starts out so good, with the bass, and that sound that’s played behind it…. Then you hear the “Come on….” And the whistling sounds, but then disaster strikes…..
  • At about the 1 minute mark, this noise starts. It’s like an acid noise or something…. Anyway it gets louder and louder, and then you hear some beeps, then the noise keeps getting louder….. and louder… and when it finally gets the loudest, it keeps playing……. And it’s like Ugh…. So if you have an ipod, or are playing that on CD, just go ahead and get ready to skip to about 1:35….. but don’t skip to far though, or you’ll miss the second best part in the song: “Come on…. Dance with me… .move your body…. Dance with me….. move your body… dance with me…” Those vocals…. Then after a while the best part in the song comes, which is some angelic vocals!!!!! Oh YEAH!!!! It’s neat how their all chopped up and what not.
  • 46 Art of Trance- Madagascar (Cygnus X Re)
  • This is yet another anthem song that everyone knows, and is in my opinion, a very memorable tune…. I think the Cygnus X version is much better than the highly acclaimed Ferry Corsten version, but hey, that’s just me.
  • 47 Stunt – Raindrops
  • “Hold my hand let’s chase the sun……. we both know something’s begun…..”
  • For some reason, this song reminds me of Café Del Mar... this one, like deepest blue sounds almost like a pop song, but less so….
  • 48 Motorcycle- As the Rush Comes
  • Sounds like it’s got some kind of strings in it…. Yeah, I think maybe those are strings. But anyway, another song that I feel embarrassed to listen to out loud, unless I have some chicks in the ride. Great lyrics to this song.
  • 49 Oceanlab- Sattelite
  • Another great oceanlab track. I’m pretty sure it’s the same lady from the last one. Great lyrics Great tune. I think the vesion I have is called (Original Above & Beyond Mix) Armin van Buuren Remix or something….
  • 50 Alphaville- Forever Young
  • I’m talking about the one on Tiesto’s Magik 6 Amsterdam. Anyway, it’s an excellent song as well. The way the melody of the riffs is genius, and it’s so good, and it loops for a long time… just the way a good melody should. This definitely has the potential to move up the list…
  • 51 Technique- The Sun is Shining (Mash up Matt Remix)
  • Great loud, energetic anthem, the use of vocals is just right, which makes it an altogether great song. This one will probably move up too. One of the better tracks off of ISOS 4.
  • 52 Dominic Plaza- Sounds Rushing
  • Speaking of ISOS 4….. Yeah, this is another great song. Jonnyboy loves a good baseline… and this song has it….. With those chopped up vocals being added in this song really does progress into just what the title says…. Sounds rushing. That may sound like a bad thing, but you’d be shit out of luck to not hear this one before you die…..
  • 53 Above and Beyond- No One on Earth (Gabriel & Dredson Edit)
  • Another great vocal song. Maybe this lady doesn’t have the best voice, (surely better than mine though…) but hey, her lyrics are somewhat meaningful… seems like she wants someone to take her home, and in time that person’ll love her like one of their own, then she wants YOU to take her home, because apparently, no one on earth loves her like you do…. The best part of the song is after that “slowdown” part with those lyrics, the music changes a bit… instead of the constant rhythm in the background, it gets lower and lower. I LOVE that!!!!! If there was a mix that played the whole song like that, then this would without a doubt be one of my top 5. Maybe I’ll make an edit on Cool Edit or something….
  • 54 Transa- Supernova
  • Thank god for Tiesto’s Magik series…. This is another great anthem song. A somewhat HAPPY one in my opinion. (Not happy hardcore, just a bit happy)
  • 55 Rabbit in the Moon- Deeper
  • “Deeheeeeeeepuuuuuuhhh…..uuuuuuuhh…. deeeeeheeep….”
  • This is another relaxing tune by Rabbit in the Moon. It’s got a nice beat to it. For a song that’s 12 minutes long, this sure goes by… and another thing that’s so great about this song is the way that the music enhances the vocals to make them sound the way they do.
  • 56 Front Line Assembly- Fatalist (Tribal Techno Remix)
  • So that’s what it was labled when I found it on limewire about 2 years ago. This was also in my really early “techno” collection. This song starts out with like the highest note on a piano just constantly being hit. Then some bass comes in, then we get that acid. The song just goes up from there, with vocals being added, and a dark melody added as well.
  • 57 Lords of Acid- I sit on Acid
  • Ohhhh boy…. What a song this one is. I think this was like an early 90s song. If this was played in a club today, aw man, what a floorfiller this one’d be… that beat is just great. BUT on top of that beat, what do we have? Some “horny woman” vocals:
  • In the very beginning, she’s like “Darrrrling come HEEEEeeere, FUCK me up the----- then the music starts. But her rants do end there, oh no sirrrrrie…. Throughout the whole song, she’s saying “Sit on your face…. I wanna sit on your face…. And there are parts when she starts basically cumming all over the track… then she does it a second time and starts laughing, and you just…can’t….help but to laugh with her the first time you hear this…..
  • 58 Faithless ft Penny shaw- Drifting Away
  • In my opinion, the best faithless track out there, and way better than “Insomnia”. First it starts out with an opera woman singing, then she stops and the beat starts. That bass line is an animal… Those beats are an animal, those whispering vocals that you occasionally hear are great too.
  • 59. Humate- Love Stimulation (PvDs Love Club Mix)
  • Yeah, we’ve all heard this one too. A great bass line on this one, but the best part is that piano. Oh my god… that piano…
  • 60. Underworld- Two Months Off
  • In my opinion, the best underworld track. I love how that vocal in the beginning just keeps looping, and then silently the music just starts building up into what is for me one of the most unforgettable beats I’ve ever heard. I mean, ever since I first heard this song, it’s been stuck in my head, and when I start thinking about it, it doesn’t leave. Even when I’m sometimes listening to other songs, I hear this song playing. The lyrics in this song are okay. This WILL be higher in the future…. I just heard this one. So I’m not sure if I’ll get tired of it or what….. probably not though.
  • 61 Orbital- Halcyon + On + On
  • The lesser but still good remix of Halcyon. I don’t like this one, because it’s just not as relaxing as the original, and I don’t like the addition of that extra vocal sample. I do like how they layer that “lalalalalaLAALAAlaalaalala” part like that… that IS pretty cool, and I saw a live version on YouTube that wasn’t bad, they mixed it with that “Heaven is a place on Earth” song…
  • 62 PvD- For an Angel (98 mix)/ (Robert Miles/ Ayla Mix)
  • There’s probably better PvD songs out there, but for now, this is the best one I’ve heard. Love that voice that occasionally whispers “Angel…” I heard a mix of this song that was mixed with Rob Miles’ “Fable” and Ayla’s “Liebe” which was alright, but I like the 98 version better. That piano part at the end is great.
  • 63 Gouryella-Gouryella
  • The first time I listened to this track was on imeem.com, and it was on someone’s playlist. It was like a 2:50 sec long version. When I heard it, I was like, what’s so good about that?! But then, I heard the REAL version, the one with the clip that goes, “Goooooourrrrrrrryyeeeeeelllllllllaaaaaaa” and I was like OH!! So that’s what this track is all about.
  • 64. (DJ Tiesto???)- Walking on Clouds
  • I think this is on Tiesto’s Just Be Album… Awesome song though. Used to be one of my favorites, as I downloaded this off of limewire and it was in my “techno” collection. The vocals on here are excellent, this lady can really sing, and of course, the music is good too. I mean, come on, it’s Tiesto.
  • 65. Paragliders- Oasis
  • Boom. Oliver Lieb tune right here. If you haven’t heard this one, not much I can say to you. The only Lieb tune better is Netherworld.
  • 66. Underworld- Born Slippy
  • “Drive boy…. Dog boy…. Dirty numb angel boy…..”
  • My friends thought this was a homosexual song the first time they heard it. It’s now a hit amongst us. It’s another catchy underworld song that just forces you to sing along with it. Then when that hard techno part comes in, you just can’t help but to lose it like the guy does in the video…..(which is really weird by the way…)
  • “She smiled at you……BOOOYYYYY…….” (We just love to exaggerate the “Booooyyyyyy” part like fags…. It’s just funny….)
  • 67. Signum- Second Wave
  • The best signum song. They did a remix to Escape, which I can’t seem to find anywhere. Anyway, another good anthem song.
  • 68. The Quest- C Sharp
  • Or as newbies call it C Sharp’s “The Quest”. That melody is indeed a great one, and this will probably move up the list.
  • 69. Smith & Mighty- Bi-Line Fi Blow
  • Another Midnight Club Tune. This is an excellent , but surprisingly simple drum and bass song with some African sounding vocals on the track.
  • And there you have it. My top 69.
  • TOP 200 List Coming Soon…………. Or not……

Hey, I have a song that I accidentally deleted off of my youtube account. Its a Tiesto song that starts off really quiet and builds up for the first 10 seconds and then the base hits!! Does that sound familiar to anyone? Please please please! I need it to study for my math final, which may sound strange, but yeah.
