James Bond Theme Songs

Tags:
  • James Bond Theme (John Barry/Monty Norman)--1 by default
  • 20. All Time High-This song just bores me to no end, and it's pretty difficult to remember.
  • 19. Moonraker-The only reason this song isn't at the bottom of the list is in deference to 3-time Bond theme singer Shirley Bassey.
  • 18. You Only Live Twice-I don't think that I liked anything about this movie (save the volcano), and the slow, meandering theme song is no different.
  • 17. The Man With the Golden Gun-Lulu was the best the Bond producers could come up with? Horrible failure as a "poppy" Bond theme.
  • 16. Die Another Day-The best part of an otherwise horrid film. Madonna annoys a bit with her compex (read: strange) lyrics and Sigmund Freud references, but the electronica beat works better than expected.
  • 15. Tomorrow Never Dies-It's pretty bad when, 10 minutes after hearing a song, you forget what it sounds like. However, no matter how forgettable this theme is, it's not a bad song. It's biggest con is that Sheryl Crow sings it.
  • 14. License to Kill-Gladys Knight is better than this predictable power ballad, and she deserved a mulligan (almost as much as Timothy Dalton deserved one).
  • 13. Nobody Does It Better-No, Ms. Simon, plenty do it better. A respectable, but not particularly stunning, theme for one of Roger Moore's few respectable Bond films.
  • 12. From Russia With Love-The oft-forgotten Matt Munro theme (which isn't actually sung until about 15 minutes into the movie) is a well sung theme that expresses the more refined tone of this second film.
  • 11. A View To a Kill-The hit of the group is quite fun to listen to, but it just misses the top ten for me.
  • 10. For Your Eyes Only-The quite heartfelt theme song from the only good Roger Moore movie; Sheena Easton delivers a warm ballad in For Your Eyes Only (which was nominated for an Oscar).
  • 9. The Living Daylights-Not as bad as you'd think...just listen and stop complaining about it being a-ha singing...it's pretty good.
  • , Diamonds Are Forever, Goldeneye, Live and Let Die, Thunderball, You Know My Name, Goldfinger, OHMSS,
  • 1. The World Is Not Enough-This amazing Garbage tune combines the grace and beauty of a Bond girl with the suave murderous nature of James Bond. TWINE (the song) just exudes "bond-ness", and I have to put it at the top.
