Ian Fleming was born in 1908 and died in 1964, and famous wrote the James Bond novels which were successfully translated into a series of films.
The years refer to the years of publication of the novels.
For Your Eyes Only was a collection of short stories, which included in this order: From a View to a Kill; For Your Eyes Only; Risico; The Hildebrand Rarity; Quantum of Solace.
Octopussy and The Living Daylights were two short stories, published posthumously. Future prints of the novel also included the short stories The Property Of A Lady, and 007 In New York.
A number of the film adaptations bear little resemblance to the actual novels - these include The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker and You Only Live Twice.
