I am not a martial arts fan, but Jackie rules!

No Shanghai Noon?
I did enjoy that one. But my husband pointed out that Jackie didn't do any really cool stunts. As I recall, the stunts were either blurry or shown from so far away that it could have been anyone performing them. (I suppose I should give Jackie a break. He's no spring chicken.)
I've never known Jackie Chan not to do his own stunt work and I don't believe Shanghai Noon is any different. Also, I think he did plenty of cool stunts in this film. And if the title of the list is "Jackie Chan favorites" and you liked the film wouldn't that make it eligible for the list?
Many of Chan's other movies emphasize that he did the stunt by using multiple shots of Jackie doing the stunt. In Shanghai Noon, it seemed like the movie was hiding the stunt work rather than showing it off.
I like most movies I see but that doesn't automatically make them candidates for favorites.
I'd agree that the stunt-work wasn't as death-defying as in his younger days, but I believe he still did them all himself. For me, the thing that made Shanghai Noon stand out from his other US releases is that Owen Wilson ended up being his perfect comedic partner - who'da thought?
Owen was indeed a good partner for Jackie. I just read that a sequel is in the works, called Shanghai Knights, in which our heroes travel to England.
Hi, Andrea! Can I ask where you read this information at? I knew there was going to be a sequel called Shanghai Knight but I haven't heard anything about it being set in England. Thanks, Much!
Just a little item in last Friday's Denver Post movie section. I don't know which news service they got it from. Production is supposed to start in February.
What? No "Rumble in the Bronx"?
It just wasn't over-the-top enough.
The Drunken Master is awesome. (And I don't even watch Jackie Chan.)
Drunken master is my favorite Chan flick. It is the one where he gets the right mixture of Action and light comedy. Plus good Maritial Arts movies need subtitles or dubbing depending on your preference.
