While I'm at the commenting, I really enjoyed your mix too. A great variety of tracks, many of them strangely catchy. "Chelsea Hotel '78" is a bit of a mindbender but I can't stop listening to it; the cover of "Rock the Casbah" is even more bizarre but incredibly enjoyable; the Jan and Dean song is insane but hilarious; your mix contains yet another terrific song from Acid Tongue; and of course I always love Sparks and Sloan.
My only complaints are that the Nat King Cole song, while fun the first time, wears kinda thin on repeated listens (the dated references and significant length don't help), and I think there was something wrong with my copy because there's a faint, repetitive static-y noise over the last three tracks. I've tried the CD on multiple players and it was the same every time. Anyone else have that problem?
Damn, I tried to preview all my discs before sending them out, too. If anybody else is having the problem, let me know and I'd be glad to replace your disc, or at the very least upload the affected tracks somewhere for you guys.
I'm really glad you enjoyed the mix, AJ. Regarding the Nat King Cole song, I always find it fascinating to hear the old guard take on modern pop music. Seems like the same things Nat said would be echoed some twenty years later in regards to the rising of hip hop.
Actually, when I ripped the mix to my computer, the files turned out fine, so no worries. Additionally, the back of the CD looks spotless, so it seems like it's neither a hardware or a software problem. I can only conclude that it was the work of a magical wizard.
Thanks again for the great mix and for taking care of organizing this whole shebang!
