- this just proved too difficult for me to get into. I didn't give it much of a chance, but I had a hard time following what I did read
- Unweaving the Rainbow, Richard Dawkins
- I found his style just too condescending. I'm a scientist as well and respect his desire to express the wonders of science, but to bash anyone who doesn't agree with him was too much.
- Sword of Shannara, Terry Brooks
- I really liked Tolkien and tried to read this, but it just had too slow of a beginning for me to really get into. It's been a while though so maybe I should try again.








These are some of the few books I've tried to read but just couldn't finish, that I actually chose not to pick up again (as opposed to getting distracted by other books and not making it back to them).
