This list is to provide a bit of background to the one I just posted. I realize I'm stretching the horror movie genre a bit to include Silence of the Lambs and Fallen (thrillers?) and The Kingdom (actually a Danish TV series now out on VHS), but they all scared/disturbed me so they're on.

I just moved In the Mouth of Madness from my other list to this one after having seen it last night. It was actually better then I had expected. While it wasn't perfect, it had some good scares and some pretty disturbing subject matter.
