Horror movies that have actually scared me

- THE EXORCIST - This movie didn't creep me out the first time I saw it. But then I saw the re-release with the extra 11 minutes in the movie theatre and that did creep me out. But not NEARLY as much as the book did.
- THE EXORCIST III - All I can say is, whoah. This is scarier than the original, perhaps because of the added serial killer character. Serial killers, especially when they act this creepy, really scare me.
- HALLOWEEN - Doesn't scare me as much as it does some people, and as the series went on Michael Myers became much less frightening. But in the first one, I care about the characters. And I think half the scare for this series is in the soundtrack.
- WHEN A STRANGER CALLS BACK - The creepiest scare I've ever gotten is at the very beginning and very end of this movie. A freaky, realistic-seeming horror film, whose first scene is probably the inspiration for "Scream."
- BLACK CHRISTMAS - A highly overlooked and underrated horror film featuring Margot Kidder and Olivia Hussey set at Christmas time in a sorority house. Very spooky and well-paced. You wish they made them this well nowadays.
- RED DRAGON - But they felt kind of like cheap scares, especially near the beginning with the fast cuts and loud sudden noises. I also saw it by myself. But Ralph Fiennes is the master of creepiness when he wants to be.
- CANDYMAN - It doesn't scare me as much anymore, after viewing it so many times, but you best believe I'm not saying it in the mirror - not even ONCE!
- THE RING - Damn! Even writing about it gives me the creeps! I think it helps that there were no big names in it. Well, I guess Naomi Watts is kind of big, but it was the first movie I'd seen with her in it, to the best of my knowledge.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some. It's really hard to scare me nowadays. One movie I'm not adding, cause it's technically neither a horror movie nor a feature film would be "The Deliberate Stranger" this mini-series they play on Lifetime a lot about Ted Bundy. That scares me worse than anything, as do any books about him. Shudder.

Did you see Tank Girl?
No, but why do you ask?
Because Naomi Watts played one of the major characters in it about 5 or 6 years before she got big in the States. Yet, I had no idea it was her because she had a completely different look and dark hair. Here are some pictures. Without looking close you'd never know it was the same person. So I thought she might have slipped in under your radar. Tank Girl's actually sort of a fun weird movie.
