In Heavy Rotation

Tags:
  1. Tragically Hip, The - These Canadians aren't half bad and they only have one song called the Hockey Song.
  2. Black Box Recorder - Brits are so incestuous. And musically promiscuous, moving from band to band... But they do sound just like the Auteurs, which is good.
  3. Kleenex Wonder Girl - I just kept thinking of a tissue box when I would listen to their songs in college. Now, I think about what a cute trend lo-fi music was.
  4. Girls Against Boys - I had no idea who these people were. I still don't but I like their stuff.
  5. Arling and Cameron - Silly Germans. Or Europeans or whatever.
  6. Turin Brakes - For some reason, I kept thinking these guys were Throwing Muses and wondering why they didn't sound like a late 80s/early 90s indie group.
  7. Nitin Sawhney - World music, right?
  8. Sebadoh - They are always in heavy rotation with me, I think. Them and T. Rex and Teenage Fanclub and the Jam. But I only included them. I don't know why.
  9. Badfinger - Aimee Mann's cover of Baby Blue kickstarted this recent listening session.
  10. Olivia Tremor Control, The - I thought, "I'm listening to a lot of Neutral Milk Hotel. How about the rest of the Elephant 6?"
  11. Pastilla - Mexican indie bands don't get a lot of play even in San Diego.
  12. Ornette Coleman - Jazz is still trendy, man.
  13. Sleater-Kinney - Sometimes I'm in a Olympia mood and sometimes I'm not. This time, I'm somewhere in the middle.
  14. Big Leaves - The Welsh and music. You know Catatonia had that song about waking up every day and being so glad that they're Welsh. Pretty darn arrogant you know.
  15. Sloan - Another Canadian band. Does this mean I am committing treason?

Because I mostly listen to music that I mix onto a CD and then take with me when I am driving somewhere, the same songs get played for about a couple of weeks to a month.
