- I love spectacle. To me, it's why we have movies (as long as you can simultaneously tell a great story with great characters). Spectacle is what film can give us and novels & plays cannot.
- War of the Worlds - Steven Speilberg has all but promised this will be the biggest-budgeted movie ever, with all the money spent on fantastic aliens and their masses descending upon the world. I can't wait, especially if they maintain the frightening tone of the novel.
- King Kong - Peter Jackson has already taken the crown as the newest King of Fantastic Spectacle, and King Kong is the perfect material for him to strut his stuff. Giant monsters and dinosaurs battling each other, destroying cities, etc. It's gonna be beautiful.
- Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith - I'm expecting even more fantastic spectacle than the last two prequels, including great cityscapes, Kashyyyk, and a rumored battle on an active volcano!
- Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow - Giant robots, exotic locales, airborne dogfights, mass destruction, and an excellent stylized look. Let's only hope the movie's story and character appeal are as great as its visual appeal.
- Superman Returns - early word suggests we may be seeing fantastic battles and even massive alien worlds. Droool...
- The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - it's not nearly as epic as Lord of the Rings, but expect plenty of great locations and magic and such.
- Godzilla: Final Wars - you'd think a movie about a dozen skyscraper-sized monsters battling it out in several of the largest cities in the world would make #1 on the list, but despite Harry Knowles' thoughts on the subject, the Man-In-Suit and Cardboard-City approach makes this idea far less interesting than it would otherwise be. Still, I'm looking forward to it, especially since we get to see Man-In-Suit Godzilla lay the beat-down on Emmerich's GINO (Godzilla In Name Only).
- Aeon Flux - this movie is so early in production I have no idea what to expect, but it has potential to be quite spectacular.
- Fantastic Four - Everything about the comics was big and massively destructive. Though it seems to be a bitterwseet comedy, don't expect the filmmakers to resist the urge to through in plenty of spectacle for a 'family drama.'
- Alexander - Extremely Troy-esque large-scale battle scenes expected.
- Kingdom of Heaven - The story could be done 'small,' but I'm betting the filmmakers want to make it bigger than it really is, so expect some fantastic shots of ancient cities and larger-than-is-realistic battles.
- The Brothers Grimm - I'm not sure what to expect, but the material certainly lends itself to a few fantastic settings and creatures. We'll see what approach Gilliam took with this one.

Add Planet of the Pitts on there. go to imdb.com and check out the overview. Sounds crazy and I think it looks great.
WOW. Thanks for the heads up on THAT one! But, I'll have to wait 'till i know more about it before I'll add it to the list.
