WHAT!!! Are you crazy?!?! Earl Campbell -- The Tyler Rose -- is definitely (and without the slightest doubt) NOT number 33. He is at least number 4. And in my opinion, with all due respect to Payton and Brown, is number 1. The greatest of all time...Earl Campbell. just look at the youtube videos you neophyte. My God! How dare you advance the idea that Campbell isn't among the top 5. And again, in my opinion, given all factors, he is number 1.
One other thing....looking at your list, it is as if you rely solely upon statistics. Stats don't make a winner. Stats have little to do with greatness, that is true. It is Emmit running the Cowboys past Giants in playoffs w/ separated shoulder or OJ in the snow at Ralph Wilson stadium. Campbell was astounding, mesmerizing, incredibly powerfull and strong yet lithe and agile. I've never seen anything like him. As to your list, I am puking looking at the names listed before him. And I'm a lifelong New York City area guy. AS A NEW YORKER LOVE TO SEE TIKI AND CURTIS BUT NO WAY IN HELL THAT EITHER TIKI OR CURTIS WILL EVER BE REMEMBERED THE WAY CAMPBELL OUGHT BE REMEMBERED IN TERMS OF WHOSE THE GREATEST. No way, no how. Campbell, number 1!
No Thurman Thomas?
...seriously?
