The 400 Blows was a big setback for me in my attempts to become cinematically literate. Really didn't like it. My lowbrow inclinations betrayed me, I'm afraid. Sigh.
It's great to see another Truffuat admirer. I would say "Jules and Jim" is his best work, but I can't make much of an argument against a film like "The 400 Blows".
It was a close call for me too.
