- The Magnificent Ambersons - This is Orson Welles' masterpiece. Not that there's anything wrong with "Citizen Kane", but his version of this book is truly the image of filmmaking Welles envisioned.
- The Grapes of Wrath
- Gone With the Wind - Do we need an explaination?
- To Kill a Mockingbird - Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch. Perfect.
- Paris Trout
- Wonder Boys
- High Fidelity

List compiled from previous winners of the Pulitzer, PEN, and National Book Awards, as well as from sources compiled from my library...

May I suggest adding the following:
The Outsiders   book   and   film.
Remains of the Day   book   and   film.
Two of my favourite films. The Outsiders is also a great book. Remains of the Day is supposedly a classic book, with great reviews, and on my bookshelf to read (soon I plan).
