These are beautifully written little books about a fictional town where people are generally good and they truly care about each other. Jan Karon does a great job of not making her stories overly sappy and there is enough reality (not everything goes they way it should, just like real life) to keep it interesting. I like them because no one is getting killed, there is romance instead of full blown sexual encounters (I know what books to read if I want that), and good always triumphs over evil. This isn't heavy reading, they are just nice gentle books.
