I'm still rearranging this list a little.
Cloned From:

Cool! I'm psyched to see you've cloned this list. My daughter has recently discovered Beauty & the Beast, so I've gotten to rediscover why it's my favorite animated movie. I've also renewed my indignation over Silence of the Lambs beating it for the 1991 Best Picture Oscar.
(of the nominees, that is - I'd pick Raise the Red Lantern from the whole field.)
Excellent list - of what I've seen, I'd quibble a bit over order, but I have no major disagreements. I guess the only breaking of ranks I'd do would be moving South Park out of Tier 1. Very funny at times, but the Saddam Hussien/Satan sub-plot was too long and downright unfunny (IMO, of course). Otherwise I'd agree that it deserves a spot.
Tell me of Akira - I'm intrigued.
Hey, Jim! Akira is sort of hard to describe. It was the first Anime (nee Japanimation) film that I ever saw. It had a pretty unique science fictiony story and that animation was great. It made me wish all of my favorite sci-fi books would be made into animated films at the very minimum. I haven't seen it in at leat 10 years but I think it's worth a look see. Recently released on DVD, too!
