Some games I've played significantly you can't really play to completion (Sim City 2000, NBA Live '98, others). Also, some games I played a lot I never quite finished (Excitebike, Super Mario RPG, Beyond Good & Evil, others).

theres probably more. i loved finishing HL but "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was the hardest to complete, i think older games were tougher
You are absolutely correct about that. As gaming becomes more mainstream, gamemakers are feeling pressure not to alienate new, casual gamers with too much difficulty.
