- Après vous is a French romantic comedy (love triangle - go figure) I loved Daniel Auteuil in Girl on the Bridge, so this should be light, enjoyable.
- Shichinin no samurai (The Seven Samurai) is an epic adventure, directed by Akira Kurosawa.
- Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain or, Amelie, was lovely, and a pleasing film, but were the orgasms necessary? It seems an awful lot of setup and work for 30 seconds of footage I'd rather not see anyway.
- O Homem Que Copiava (The Man Who Copied) looks a bit madcap fun, where a young man's moneymaking schemes all work.
- Dare mo shiranai (Nobody Knows) is a quite Japanese film, based on a true story of four children abandoned by their mother. Outstanding.
- Lola rennt (Run, Lola Run) It has the feel of a captivating short film, that's all I can say. Amazing.
- Bin-jip (3-iron) a homeless young man lives in empty homes - a romance.
- Le Charme discret de la bourgeoisie imdb says, "Surreal dreams running into an absurd reality" appears to be a trippy (bourgeois) 70s comedy.
- Gong fu (Kung Fu Hustle) Stephen Chow writ, directed, starred martial arts comedy. Weak story, but funny.
- Les Choristes set in wartime France, in the "influential teacher" genre - with gorgeously simple choral music.
- Nueve reinas (Nine Queens) is a philatelic crime drama from Argentina. I love it without having seen it or knowing anything else about it.
- Werckmeister harmóniák (The Werckmeister Harmonies) looks dark and mesmerizing. Based on a deep book.
- Les Amants du Pont-Neuf (Lovers on the Bridge) stars La Binoche in a non-standard love story. Ah, those French - violence, language, nudity and substance abuse appear.
- La Fille sur le Pont (Girl on the Bridge) is a different girl, different bridge than the above one, but French too. Excellent story.
- Comme une image (Look at Me) is French, and currently in American theaters (limited)
- PARDON THE FOLLOWING BINOCHE-FEST, I HAVEN'T SEEN, SO CAN'T VOUCH FOR ANY, BUT WOULD LIKE TO TRY THEM
- La Veuve de Saint-Pierre, The Widow of Saint-Pierre is Juliette Binoche. It's a drama, about redemption, basically.
- Le Hussard sur le toit (The Horseman on the Roof) is a(nother) period drama with La Binoche, set in the cholera plague of 1832.
- Code inconnu: Récit incomplet de divers voyages (Code Unknown) appears to be a very random thriller/drama.
- Because of Mama is a Russian short film, shown on Sundance and unreleased on VHS/DVD. It's beautifully simple. About a young cellist.
- Sorry, two more romantic comedies with La Binoche. Haven't seen these, probably unspectacular, but still.
- Décalage horaire (Jet Lag) typical "strangers thrown together, conflict, fall hard for eachother"
- Un divan à New York an apartment-switch romantic comedy. Not exactly plausible, but a delight, I'm sure.
- Tateshi Danpei (The Fencing Master) is an action-Kurosawa - unavailable on VHS/DVD. Hmmm.
- Thé à la menthe (Mint Tea) about a young man who creates a false 'successful' identity to write home about, then mother comes to visit. Twist: He's an Algerian living in Paris.
- Recently saw Kakushi toride no san akunin (Hidden Fortress) Kurosawa influenced George Lucas' Star Wars Episode IV. It's pretty obvious.
- Kontroll - Hungarian film about the underground.

I'm a subtitle junkie. They're enough (nearly) to give up on American cinema entirely. Also, I forgot, that I often don't consider films made in the Australia, the UK or Ireland as being "foreign" because I can understand what they're saying! Oh, and Canadian films really aren't foreign at all. So that'll be another list.
