Tags:
- A Space Odyssey (probably the first movie title I will think of everytime)
- Flirt (my favorite Hal Hartley movie)
- Day of the Dead (was on TV last night)
- La Vie est un long fleuve tranquille (the movie I saw the most times, a french social comedy from 1990)
- Dead Ringers (my favorite Cronenberg movie)
- Eraserhead (thinking about Cronenberg usually triggers thoughts of David Lynch as well)
- Josie and the Pussycats (please, don't ask me why)
- Mad Max (popped up probably because of the ring there is to the title)
- Simple Men (another Hartley reference)
- X2 (I guess the link is men as in simple men and xmen)

Just as the title said... I gave myself thirty seconds and scribbled down on a piece of paper the first ten movie titles that crossed my mind... now they're a list on listology, don't you just love the 21st Century ? it's an interesting result, I think

Lemme try:
American Beauty
American Pie
Monty Python and the Hol Grail
The Matrix
Metropolis
A Matter of Life and Death
Better Off Dead...
Bus Stop
Swingers
Bad Education
What the hell? That makes no sense at all. I haven't even seen A Matter of Life and Death, Bus Stop, Swingers, or Bad Education (and Bus Stop and Swingers haven't crossed my mind for ages).
Alright, I took a whack at this:
Tootsie
No Such Thing
It Happened One Night
Million Dollar Baby
Gandhi
Best Boy
Beauty and the Beast
Bringing Up Baby
Broadcast News
I Accuse (J'Accuse)
Obviously, I recently watched Million Dollar Baby and Gandhi (and It Happened One Night, if we go back a month or two), and I mentioned No Such Thing in a previous post this morning. The other ones beg less obvious explanations (I used to watch Bringing Up Baby and Broadcast News quite a bit in college, they are both comedies, and they both start with 'B', so perhaps they have some strange neural fusion? Also an interesting string of 'B' movies.)...
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
I took 30 seconds plus another 5 to look up how to spell #5 (which I have not seen):
Heavenly Creatures
All About Eve
The Wizard of Oz
Blade Runner
Koyaanisquatsi
Singin’ in the Rain
Rear Window
Laura
Lost in Translation
Breathless
Interesting. Not exactly my top 10, but a lot of my favorites are on here.
Here are mine, if you're interested...
The Godfather
American Graffiti
Star Wars
The Deer Hunter
Big Foot and the Hendersons (don't ask!)
Thelma & Louise
Jurassic Park
Sideways
Taxi Driver
Raging Bull
weird... 2 of them I haven't even seen!
I suck under pressure... I only got 4 in 60 seconds.
Thanks for my first laugh-out-loud internet moment today.
Did literally the first 10 to pop into my head:
man i tried again... how do you guys do this... i just draw blanks or i start thinking of my favorite movies... thats it... which is not interesting at all... they don't just pop in.
Hey, I'm glad you people enjoyed that... ah, ah I can come up with novel ideas once in a while... I don't plan on boring everyone senseless with my obsession for brunettes, you know... I guess when I get the time I'll try to put myself in thirty-second challenges with other listology-related themes... like actors, actresses, book titles, singers, music album titles and so on... Thanks for your interest...
I;m gonna give this a go.
Star Wars
Lotr: RotK
Shawshank Redemption
Shrek
Shark Tale
The Shining
And Soon The Darkness
Dumb and Dumber
The Sound of Music
Rush Hour
Hm, a mixed bag!
Dumb And Dumber
Eternal sunshine
Taxi Driver
Shark Tale
Ray
Alien Vs Predator
Gerry
The burbs'
Ace Ventura
Beetlejuice
a very personal result from Rushmore... this thirty-second challenge is still up and running so don't hesitate to participate!!!
I know it's been a while since anyone posted to this list, but I've been digging around some Listologists' old lists today. Great idea for a list!
1) Casino - why did I think of this one? I have no feelings about it one way or the other.
2) The Incredibles - it figures my juvenile brain would turn to animation
3) Rashomon - one of my favourites, though why it popped up instead of others is a mystery
4) Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - just pictured Jessica Rabbit. What does that say about a straight woman like me?
5) Groundhog Day - Oddly I just pictured the video cover of this.
6) Lost in Translation - Obviously some sort of Bill Murray connection
7) Amarcord - I saw this some months ago, and haven't thought much about it since. Strange.
8) 8 1/2 - I've never even seen this film!
9) Dead Alive - This one neither!
10) Shaun of the Dead - Heh. I laugh even thinking about it. "You've got red on you."
Thank you for keeping my lists alive :)
Hmmm, Jessica Rabbit? Yes, I would have figured straight women like you would have pictured Roger, or even that loveable hugable Benny the Cab, before Jessie... Could you just imagine Bill Murray portraying some half-wacko/half-jaded toon character in (if ever) a Roger Rabbit sequel?
