- Shallow Grave: Love this film. It keeps you guessing with each passing minute. It's almost criminal how this movie never gets mentioned with all the other great mystery films of all time, when it deserves to be mentioned along with them.
- Road To Perdition
- Y Tu Mama Tambien: I can't tell you how many times I've seen this film. It's possibly my favorite film of 2002.
- Network
- A Streetcar Named Desire
- The Wages of Fear
- Birthday Girl: Watched it last night (1/6). Interesting premise but rather predictable. Nicole Kidman does shine in this film. I don't recall this film getting much press when it was released.

My new satellite dish box has an internal hard drive that allows you to record anything that comes on and watch it at another time, just like TiVo.

Wow, this should keep you pretty happy for awhile!
I think Throne of Blood might be AK's best film, but don't go spreading that round... :)
Let me know how The Ring is. I haven't seen that one yet.
Shalom, y'all!

Throne is the only one of Kurosawa's Samurai epics that I haven't seen. My personal fave is Yojimbo, only because I can't watch Seven Samurai, as much as I love it, without thinking about how lame that bastardized US version The Magnificent Seven really is.
Cool beans, comments! Now all you have to do is shuttle these movies off to a "seen in 2004" list with reviews as you watch them, and the Listology HOF stars will start coming fast and furious. :-) 9 of the 14 people ahead of you keep some kind of regularly updates "seen/read" list. Perhaps a coincidence, perhaps not...
"Saw Road to Perdition" twice. I didn't plan to see it twice, but it is a movie that you should see.
I might have to Netflix that "Y Tu Mama Tambien" since you seem to like it. I've been wanting to see it but thought I'd see if anyone liked it first.
"True Romance" is pretty good, and definitely pretty gory in terms of violence and blood. That kind of stuff doesn't bother me, though. :)
"Requiem for a Dream" I think I should endorse because I won a nice little prize package with the book signed by the author and the director, a poster also signed by the two, and a t-shirt. I thought the movie was very dizzying, but in a good sort of way. You may want to take some Dramamine before watching it, though. Just a word to the wise. I would watch this movie again.
"The Ring" I really enjoyed, but I've heard mixed reviews. I'm biased towards anything on the supernatural or horror topics, though, so it's up to you if you want to believe me that it's good! It will certainly make you think.
