I get shivers just thinking about these films...

I get shivers thinking about how many times I finished these great films....
I'm happy for you...
TPM is definitely the worst of the Star Wars movies, but did you stick it out long enough for the lightsaber duel? It was arguably the best fight scene of the series.
I'm afraid I didn't, but if it's that great, I'd rather have a friend dub just that scene so I could watch it on its own!
Johnny Waco (who was suspicious of all the Star Wars hype anyway)
Don't go to too much trouble. While I think it's the best fight scene of the series, it didn't make my Favorite Action Scenes list (although I did consider it before reluctantly discarding it).
Personally, I think the Star Wars series is very fun but with little depth. Kinda like fast food. That it was really targeted to a younger audience has become apparent to me as I've gotten older. But I do think the series produced one legitimately good movie in The Empire Strikes Back. And of course Star Wars is iconic and has been immensely influential, but that doesn't make it "good" (And the positive effect of its influence is debatable - I read an article once on how Star Wars ushered in the blockbuster era, and life has pretty much stunk since).
Amen jim! What you're saying about the Star Wars franchise is like preaching to the choir...

You are very caring.. I appreciate you being happy for me Johnny. I think Phantom Menace is the weak link in that series of films, however, growing up with Star Wars I was eager to see this one.
Well, I guess that's what makes our great big listology family so wonderful: everyone is free to love or not love what they want;)

I understand most selections on this list. Though I kind of liked Everybody...(I dont feel good about myself about it though. I do not understand the 10 Commandments. It certainly has it flaws but I remember it as a reasonably good epic. Is your difficulties with religious accuracy or do you just not like Heston?
Well, I'm somewhat ambivalent about Heston. I just have problems with a lot of the "Biblical Epics" from the fifties because they seem so sterile and self-important. It seems like the vitality is sucked out of these stories in an attempt to be exact and reverant. Give me Jesus of Montreal or The Last Temptation of Christ anyday...
