Don't forget André the Giant who was in a few films, most notable in The Princess Bride. Also, Rowdy Roddy Piper has been in a ton of low-grade films, including John Carpenter's They Live. And even Macho Man Randy Savage who had a career moment in his bit part in Spiderman. Or are you intentionally avoiding movies in which wrestlers are featured in the role of wrestler (i.e. No Holds Barred)?

no probelm, cant believe i forgot! :) ill add both of your suggestions

Don't forget that bitch-child of a movie, Ready 2 Rumble, featuring many WCW stars at the time. Goldberg was also in Universal Soldier I think, I never saw it.

Don't forget Tor Johnson from Plan 9 from Outer Space!

Thx! i will add him

Nice list of wrestlers in movies. A few more that you don't have listed, The Undertaker was in a Bollywood film called Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996) the english title is Players of the Game. John Cena is currently filming a movie called The Marine (2005). The Big Show was in McCinsey's Island (1998), The Waterboy (1998), Jingle All the Way (1996) and Reggie's Prayer (1996)

cheers! are you a wrestling fan then?

I don't usually catch it anymore, but I like to know what's going on. I enjoy it, but I'd never tell anyone. A guilty pleasure, I guess. Funny thing is I played the games before I started watching it.

Yeah, I like wrestling.

i just got the new smackdwon game today, do you have it? i think its good so far, haven't played it for too long though. but it looks good so far

No, I don't have it but it looks good from what I've seen.

where's the best of movie of them all... They Live... with rowdy roddy piper

lol though i haven't seen it..sounds funny.

it is... specially the epilogue

hmmm, I didn't know about this list when I made mine about pro-wrestling matches in movies... now you may want to add Rob van Dam's movies to this here list of yours... Mister Zakowski starred in, at least, Blood Moon and Superfights 3, both very low-quality exploitation martial arts/fight movies. Goldberg also appears in a sequel to Universal Soldier. Three more with Hogan: Rocky 3, No Holds Barred and Mister Nanny. You can also add Terry Funk's movies: Paradise Alley and Over the Top, both Stallonne flicks as you know. Jules Dassin's 1950 film noir starred Stanislaus Zbysko, a massive rulebreaker star from the 30's&40's... Ox Baker, superstar of the 70's appears in Carpenter's Escape from New York. Hell comes to Frogtown is stupid but it stars Roddy Piper. The Rock has a part in the recently released Be Cool. And of course you can also investigate in the 60's and 70's mexican movies starring El santo, Blue Demon and others. it's a great list you've got going here, I hope I could help a little.

thx for the suggestions. how long you been into wrestling?

personally lately i've lost touch with whats new in wrestling. i watchedd non stop from dec2000 - late2004 but i have really lost touch with it now. i heard that wrestlemania 21 was pretty good. the last PPV i saw was summerslam2004 where randy won the title, it was one of the best PPVs i've seen. though in my view the best ever PPV is wrestlemania 17 (Rock Vs Austin / HHH Vs Undertaker / TLC 2)

wanna talk wrestling ?
I have been watching WWF/WWE on TV from 1987 until 1993 then WCW on TV from 96 to 99... own about 250 videotapes/DVDs covering periods from 1984 up to today. I have been reading and suscribing to wrestling magazines since 1990. The 100-page essay I wrote at the end of my university studies in journalism/media here in Brussels was about the WWF-WCW war of the 90's and how it changed the semiological aspects of pro-wrestling in the US and its cultural impact on american society.
Ah I can be such a showoff sometimes :p
So what was your question again ?

wow. very impressive. nice. i can't say i have a collection anywhere near that but i did once buy all the old wwf magazines form 1990 - 1996 :) and again from 2000 - 2005

The four classics: 'Mania, Series, 'Slam and Rumble, usually deliver great matches... but I have personal favorites, St Valentine's Day Massacre (February 14th 99) with the first official Austin-McMahon bout in the cage with the crazy ending you know The Giant Paul Wight bursting through the canvas in the finish of the bout, and some of the silliest things they did at the top of the attitude era (hardcore matches, Bluedust, Gangrel spitting liters of blood, Chyna pinning Triple H and Rock vs. Foley ending on a massive screw-job) and Backlash 2000 for its stellar undercard (Essa Rios vs. Guerrero, Malenko vs. Scotty Taylor and Benoit vs. Jericho)

Mister Zakowski is Rob Van Dam, you got that didn't you ?

lol no had no idea. :-) one of my favourite matches is Mankind vs Shawn Micheals at mindgames. very solid - back and fourth match, highly recommended.

well, whether you liked his attitude or not in character as well as off (his backstage manoeuverings have been well documented enough) the fact remains that Michaels was one of the great wrestlers of the 90's regarding both the sport and the entertainment facets of the art of wrestling.
And that is why you can see his name here
