Author Comments:
'Fear of Music' was a four-hour alternative-rock radio show that ran on a local station during my formative years. I credit it with the development of most of my musical taste. Here's some of the bands I was exposed to through this show, along with the first song I heard from said band (if I can remember it).

Look, it's Alphabetical! Outstanding List, I must say, I'm too mainstream (hit me over the head) to know most of these but I'm tickin them off and taking a listen. "Armageddon Dildos" doesn't exactly make me think of a great band however.
They're really not that interesting (uninspired standard-issue German industrial rock), but I do remember liking what I heard at 15 so they're included for posterity.
seems like it was a very nice radio station indeed or at least a very nice radio music show...
I'm going to see   The Buzzcocks and Stiff Little Fingers (and The Stranglers) this coming Sunday (1st May).
I first heard The Buzzcocks (Boredom), on one of   John Peel's   shows. It sounds like your affinity to the 'Fear of Music' is very similar to the affect of John Peel to many in the UK (me included).
The Buzzcocks's 'Boredom' was of course written and sung by Howard Devoto, who left the Buzzcocks (in the hands of Pete Shelley) very early on to form (the greatly underated) Magazine, who I see are also on your list.
