Author Comments:
Comments welcome.

I've just started reading The Grapes Of Wrath, and I'm already beginning to enjoy it.
I video taped '12 Angry Men' last week, so I hope to watch that very soon (it is many years since I last saw it). Then a few days later I spotted The Grapes of Wrath was to be shown on UK satellite TV on Saturday, so I planned on taping that too, but we had high winds in the UK (across N. Europe?) and the satellite service wasn't working when it was shown so I missed it - my frustration still hasn't subsided even now, but I hope that they will repeat it soon (which they often do).
I've also got Desparation, And Then There Was None, and Of Mice And Men all on my unread shelf yet to read, but I don't expect to get to them any time soon. (How good are they ?)
The Grapes of Wrath will still become better, the more you read. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts about it. The adaptation by John Ford is a good film, but (especially when compared to the book) somehow disappointing. Fonda is great though.
And then there were none is Agatha Christie's best novel. I'm not really a fan of crime novels, but this one impressed me very much. It doesn't take very long to read it.
Of Mice and Men is along with East of Eden and The Grapes of Wrath Steinbeck's best work. It won't take you very long to get through this neither.
Desperation is very thick, but it is quite probably the most thrilling book I have ever read. You read and read, and can't stop. But please note that this is a typical King-novel. Therefore it always depends on whether you like his stories and his style or not. Personally I enjoy his books very much. Yet for somebody you can't stand King's works at all, this could be a torture (above all because of some rather violent scenes).
Of these three books, Of Mice and Men is the best one, but just slightly.
