Well, that's a highly personal list and therefore makes for an interesting read thank you
Thank you for your comment. I figured it'd be more interesting this way than with 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Satisfaction' at the top, like always. :-)
Definitely some of the most original choices for best songs I've seen ;)
I swear it's all true :-)
If you haven't heard 'em, click 'Download'!
Incidentally, if you haven't seen Shaun of the Dead, you really ought to just for the 'Don't stop me now' scene. For me, it's done what Wayne's World did to Bohemian Rhapsody.
Yes, seen it. Liked the use of music, wasn't all that impressed with the movie.
I'm agree with the "listologist" that said this list is original! lol :)
I know there are YOUR favourites, but I recommend you to listen "paranoid android" from radiohead.
Radiohead is one of my favorite bands, and Paranoid Android is my favorite track from OK Computer!
I totaly agree with you!
I know this isn't the best place to put this, but is Audioscrobbler currently loading for you? Numerous attempts to load A/S pages have failed for me, and I wonder if it's a problem my end..
Thanks :)
Audioscrobbler is down frequently. It's a very popular and free service, and they often have a hard time meeting the demands of so many users. The answer to 'It's not working, what do I do?' is always: 'Wait.' If it's not working, it'll be back in a few hours or a few days.
And no, it's not working for me right now either.
I could put this comment here on another of your lists but I roughly agree with your opinion that Master of Puppets is one of the very few songs to remember from the 80's... Now, I really enjoy seeing The Animals's version of Rising Sun included here... that song is a seminal classic, one of the very earliest folk songs to which the first traces of rock music can be traced back, we're talking 1880's here... but the spirit of the song, the lyrics of the song, and basically the music of this song arguably make it one of the earliest "rock" songs ever...
As the saying goes: "rock music was raised by blues, an overbearingly possessive mother, and folk, a physically absent but spiritually unavoidable father".
Thank you...
Rising Sun: I'm dying to find the version that Leadbelly recorded in the 30s.
EDIT: found it!
Favorite melodies of all time, off the top of my head:
1. Alex North - Unchained Melody
2. ??? - Auld Lang Syne
3. ??? - House of the Rising Sun
4. Pachelbel - Canon in D
5. Rachmaninov - Piano Sonata #3
What i'd like to know is how were you able to make some of these songs downloadable? I'd love to be able to put some of my favorite songs on here, so people can hear them. Thanks and have a great day.
I can't upload them - these are just mp3s I found with Google and then linked to.
Whoa, big update! Glad to see Jeff Buckley joins the list, his version of Hallelujah is beautiful and remains unsurpassed.
And hey, whaddyaknow... it got play in Lord of War, which I saw today!
How can you listen so many kinds of music? so many genres..
Well, all but one of these is rock music...
I have spent a lot of time hunting for music of all styles. The Internet makes it pretty easy to do that.
yeah, I know that, but I still can“t understand how you can like all the different styles of music - maybe you find from all of them something good
Just noticed.. I could've sworn Just Like Heaven by The Cure used to be here. Did you remove it?
Nope, never on there.
Ah, I must be crazy. Thanks.
