Favorite Radio Dramas

  1. Adventures in Odyssey - a kids show, yes, but fantastic voice acting, stories, and characters. The more mature episodes are my favorites, naturally. Have a listen.
  2. Orson Wells' War of the Worlds - fantastic! The building tension and commitment to realism are outstanding. It's a little silly to return to only 5 seconds of classical music between each 'newsflash,' but it keeps the pace moving effectively.
  3. BBC's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings - great voice acting, sound effects, and, of course, story. Don't confuse it with a 'book on audio,' it's not.

I really wish I was aware of more excellent radio dramas, though they're hardly popular these days. Anyone got any suggestions?
