this is per jim's suggestion that a list of movies I have seen would be more conducive to ideas than a list of movies I haven't seen. he's right y'know. so here it is... not much, but it's a start.

I haven't seen Amelie, but I've seen a few other things Jeunet has directed. Have you seen Delicatessen or City of Lost Children? I highly recommend them both.
I haven't, but I'd be willing to give 'em a view. Amelie was sweetness and energy, most of it due to the framing of the director.
They're both very very good but a bit darker than Amelie. Just as quirky though.
