These are my favorite comedies. In no particular order from funnier to funniest.

I love Buster Keaton! Why've you chosen the General of all the features (or two-reelers, for that matter) that he made? I was in awe of the General the most, but it definitely wasn't the funniest to me. I'd probably choose either Sherlock, Jr. or Streamboat Bill, Jr. for pure comedy-ness.
Are you a fan of Wes Anderson at all?
Also, What About Bob? is a beautiful thing.
I love every Buster Keaton movie I've ever seen. The Cameraman, Sherlock, Jr, One Week, College, Go West, Our Hospitality, The Cook, The Garage, etc. but I think the General is not only hi-freakin-larious, but it's also a masterpiece of film. A great movie. I'm very pleased to see that it made the new AFI top 100 list this year.
