Favorite Anime Films (A.K.A. The Only Ones I Can Stand)

Tags:
  1. I tend only to favor theatrical epic anime motion pictures. Don't get me wrong. I've had my fair share of epic 3,000 episode anime cheese with all my post-bff otaku that traded with me.
  2. But movies are perfect. If I want to watch something without trying my patience... or without having a week pass by while I rot on a couch... I turn to the trusting theatrical films.
  3. The graphics and artistic perspective tend to amaze me more anyway.
  4. Paprika (2006)
  5. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust* (2001)
  6. Princess Mononoke (1997)
  7. Spirited Away (2002)
  8. Spriggan (2001)
  9. Escaflowne* (2001)
  10. Macross Plus: Movie Edition* (1994) (One of the ONLY mecha movies to my liking)
  11. Howl's Moving Castle (2005)
  12. The Cat Returns (2002)
  13. Whisper of the Heart (1995)
  14. Roujin Z (1991)
  15. (I Put These Two Together)
  16. Neon Genesis: Death and Rebirth* (2001)
  17. Neon Genesis: The End of Evangelion* (2001)
  18. Perfect Blue (1994)
  19. Kiki's Delivery Service (1987)
  20. My Neighbor Totoro (1988)
  21. Cowboy Bebop* (2003)

  33. Vampire Hunter D (1985)
  34. * = The sum-up of an epic series.
  35. * = The result of an epic series, or somewhere along the lines of an epic series- in THIS case... you might not understand the movie(s) unless you rot on a couch and watch the series first. (Example: You DEFINITELY don't want to watch The Neon Genesis Evangelion movies without watching the twenty six episodes of the series first.)
  36. * = Movie sequel, and so on and so forth.
  37. Movies to be Viewed (Or Viewed Again):
  38. - Appleseed: The Movie*?*?
  39. - Cardcaptor Sakura The Movie* (Same as Cardcaptors The Movie*, only the unedited version, with subtitles, which doesn't bother me)
  40. - Castle of Cagliostro
  41. - Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
  42. - Ghost in the Shell
  43. - Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz* (Haven't sat through the whole movie without falling ASLEEP yet... probably won't make the good list)
  44. - Innocence (Ghost in the Shell 2)*
  45. - Inu Yasha Movies 1, 2, & 3*
  46. - Metropolis 2* (I don't think this is available yet...)
  47. - Millenium Actress*
  48. - Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
  49. - Porco Rosso
  50. - Robot Carnival
  51. - Sky Blue
  52. - Steamboy
  53. - Tekkonkinkreet
  54. - Tokyo Godfathers
  55. - Urotsukidoji
  56. - Wicked City
  57. - Wings of Honneamise
  58. Movies I Didn't Preferably Like:
  59. - Barefoot Gen (One of the huge anime film landmarks, along with Akira and Ghost in the Shell, but I can NEVER watch this film again, due to the emotional outcome it presented)
  60. - Dragonball Z* (all of the movies) (sorry... never was a DB, DBZ, or DBGT fan.)
  61. - Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
  62. - Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade
  63. - Lady Death
  64. - Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack* (A wonderfully epic movie, but Mecha bores me to the EXTREME in MOST cases... so unless there's something else in the movie that takes my breath away, no.)
  65. - Ninja Scroll
  66. - Patlabor WXIII (Wasted Thirteen)
  67. - Revolutionary Girl Utena The Movie*
  68. - X: The Movie* (This movie actually came out about six years before the series did, so if you were to watch it, if the plot goes over your head, don't blame it on the absense of watching the OAV's. Read the Manga.)

Watch Ghost in the Shell.

I've seen it, but its due for another viewing.

I was 16 when I saw it- went WAY over my head.
It was the same time I saw Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade and the Patlabor Movies... never understood ANY of them. The only difference is I borrowed Ghost... so I should probably purchase it.

It has a kick ass soundtrack though.

Try Urotsukidoji

I'll keep my eye out for it and add it to the list, thank you :)

I apologize to everyone, I haven't really been working very hard on this list.

Just watch out when you watch Urotsukidoji, there's a lot of nudity, violence, and sex scenes.
