Hey, that band, Catatonia, where are they from. I like that one song, "Road Rage", but I have no idea who these people are.
Catatonia are from Wales--and very proud of it. In fact, on their (I believe) first album "International Velvet"--where you can find "Road Rage" and "Mulder and Scully"--the lyrics to the song "International Velvet" are, "Everyday when I wake up, I thank the Lord I'm Welsh." "International Velvet" is great, but their second album, "Equally Cursed and Blessed," is even better.
As Willy Wonka says in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory:" Scratch that, reverse that. "Road Rage" is actually on "Equally Cursed and Blessed," which I remembered with small embarassment on a recent spin of the CD. My friend made me a copy of the first two albums, and I obviously got them confused. This should rectify my mistake.
Copper Blue and Candy Apple Grey are top 5 punk/alt. albums ever made in my opinion...great list.
Oh...and Paul's Boutique is the best rap album ever made...period
hey,great list...BUT where are massive attack, portishead,mercury rev,air...
OK it is forgiven couse OK computer is at the top...i'm glad i am not alone
Glad to see Pulp getting mentioned. I highly reccomend their latest album We Love Life. It's just as good as Different Class.
Best wishes,
Ed.
Thanks for the suggestion; I do love that Jarvis Cocker!
