  • Fredrich Beuchner: The Son of Laughter (novel), Godric (novel), Room Called Remember (essays, and sadly, out of print)
  • Raymond Carver's short stories and poetry
  • e.e. cumming's poetry
  • Frost's poetry
  • Tess Gallagher's short stories and poetry as well
  • Ernest Hemingway: A Fawell to Arms, The Old Man and the Sea, The Sun Also Rises, The Nick Adams Stories
  • Galway Kinell's Poetry
  • Anne Tylor: Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant
  • Anne Lamott: Traveling Mercies

Again, wow! I also am a bit of a Beuchner fan. Godric almost won the Pulitizer, and Wishful Thinking should be required reading for any person of faith. Raymond Carver's short stories are excellent, but I haven't warmed to Galway Kinell the way many have. I also like Hemingway, although I greatly prefer his short stories to his novels.

Shalom, y'all!
