*i don't know if commercial jingles should count, because they're ALL annoying--but this one in particular seems to be plaguing the masses.
well, this list was inspired by a little game my coworkers and i play on each other by *planting* such songs by humming or just generally sharing our personal afflictions.
not surprisingly, there are other lists like these on the web, including here and here.
lists like these are rather personal, (since no one will know every song that someone else knows--or hate the same songs) but i hope to inspire a rash of similar lists--if only for ammo to get my coworkers back! suggestions for additions to this list also welcome.
(i have a feeling there could be subdivisions coming on: lyrics you wouldn't want to be caught singing, ie:naughty ones, lyrics that simply annoy, etc.)
The train song is by Quad City DJ's, and it's actually called "C'Mon 'n Ride It (The Train)"
The NIN song is called "Closer", and I think it would apply to the "lyrics you don't want to be caught singing" category.
I can't tell you the number of times I've caught myself: "I want to f-ree Nelson Mandela" or something like that ;)
Also applicable to the "naughty" lyrics list, is anything from the Bloodhoung Gang's new cd, "Hooray for Boobies." Hilarious songs, but not something to repeat when you're not thinking about it. :)

and i agree Bloodhound Gang is destined to be on the list someday... recently one of my coworkers was trying to shove off that "Discovery Channel" song, but i didn't know it well enough for it to stick, so his plan was foiled!
I always thought "Like a Prayer" by Madonna was kinda evil and dark, which is part of it's attraction, as it's out of character for her. Combine the lyrics and the video and you've got an interesting mix.
Though I did have it stuck in my head for awhile, I just realized that my post above was not really what you intended the list to be about...
Whenever I'm faced with the dilemma of having an unwanted song stuck in my head I hit it with the cure-all. It's a Small World. I didn't say I enjoy it I just suggested that it would scare anything else away...
That song is a HORRIBLE song to have stuck in your head. Yeah, it's a cure-all in that it does chase anything else RIGHT OUT of your head, but then you have the damn SMALL WORLD song stuck in your head. I'm not convinced that's not actually making a bad situation WORSE!!!

The name of the Rage song is "Killing In the Name." I personally love it
oh don't get me wrong--i love it too... i just don't think it's a great idea to be singing it at work or anything. :)

Lately I'm getting annoyed again by that "Charlie's Angels" song by Destiny's Child. "Tell me how your Angels get down like that!" I hate that line. I hate all the lines. They sound so lame. And they get stuck in my head.
