- 1. Fumbling Towards Ecstacy/Sarah MacLachlan-I believe that everyone between the ages of 18-30 owns this album just for the express purpose of making out. Just my own theory of course.
- 2. Moon Safari/Air-Divine, airy sounds of the moog and French lyrics. Ahhh l'amour!
- 3. Songs From the Choirgirl Hotel/Tori Amos-Men can't resist a redhead.
- 4. Just about anything by Enigma, especially the debut album.*
- 5. Just about anything by Enya.*
- 6. Massive Attack-nothing beats a little drum and bass.
- 7. Bernard Butler's "Woman I Know"-It just moves you like an ocean.

Yes I did have to make a list! *This came from an old ex, but it's still wise choice to have on hand.

I heartily approve of most of these (the ones I know, course), but have a suggestion. Dave Matthews Band. Now, I'll admit that you can't really make out to a whole cd, but in these days of mp3s and ripping, an excellent batch of songs from them can be put together. Here's a sample of my *ahem* "Slow Music" mp3 playlist.
"Lover Lay Down", "Crash", "Say Goodbye", "#40" (rare bootleg), and "The Song that Jane Likes".
Eliza, have you heard of The Moog Cookbook?
I've heard some of the mixes they've done, but I haven't heard anything else from them. Do they have the loungy, pop feel of Air or Stereolab?
Hey, Eliza! I found out about Moog Cookbook a few days ago and I've been listening to everything I can get my hands on by them. The Moog Cookbook is basically a duo composed of Roger Manning, the keyboard player for Jellyfish, and a guy named Brian Kehew.
Both of their albums are all cover songs performed entirely with Moog synthesizers. Their first album was released in 1995 and was basically Moog versions of hit songs of the first half of the 90s including Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden, Buddy Holly by Weezer, Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana and songs by Green Day, Offspring, REM, Pearl Jam, etc. Their second album was pretty much the same thing except they covered classic songs like Ziggy Stardust, Hotel California, Ain't Talkin 'Bout Love, etc.
Their treatments are incredible and they really put the Moog through it's paces. It's been awhile since I've had so much fun listening to Electronic music. Undoubtedly 3 or 4 times during each song they will do something with the song that will make me laugh. I highly recommend checking them out if you are a fun of electronic music.
