  • Burt never starred in a bad movie. Unless it was The Rose Tattoo (see stooky's diatribe below).

Lancaster was truly bigger than life: an athletic and highly charismatic actor loved by women and men.

How 'bout The Train?

Jim, I've not yet managed to catch THE TRAIN (so to speak), but it's on my wish list. Where I live, they don't show many old movies on TV any more - which is where I saw most of these, decades ago. Hopefully I can find it on video. A few weeks ago my rich brother bought a new widescreen television (83cm/32inch screen, aspect ratio: 16:9. Very cool) and if I can watch the video on that I'll be in hog heaven.

Nice to see someone else use my idea, and with Burt to. he was on my list of actors to tackle.

No Local Hero? I also really liked Go tell the Spartans and i second Jim's choice of the Train a really good Frankenheimer flick.

Im not sure Tough Guys would not go on my Danger list but I like your list because there is a couple there I have not seen and I will look up

I hope you will still do your own version of this list, I had a hunch you would be a Lancaster fan too.

I loved LOCAL HERO, but Burt's role is cameo rather than starring. SPARTANS is another unseen wishlist item. TOUGH GUYS is a tough one; it's a comedy, so some will love and some will loathe and some will yawn. For me, it isn't bad - how could it be, with both Lancaster and Douglas? - but it doesn't belong on a list of Burt's best.

Everybody says Bert never did a bad film...until they see THIS!

Watch and be in awe of the stink. It's scary...really, I had to watch it in 3 seperate pieces cause I had to run away from the TV.

T'ho

:?)

I'm Bert, the actor is Burt. TRT sounds like a must avoid, which I think I have managed to do - reading that linked review didn't ring any bells for me (well, there were those alarm bells). Thanks...I think.

Ha! The Bert/Burt foible of 04. Hehe. Read other posts and be in awe of my thunderous cranial-anus explosion. I'm pretty sure I posted about 10 silly posts.

:?)

The acting in The Rose Tattoo isn't a bad performance if you can take it for what it was intended to be... an over-the-top comic performance. For a serious ethnic role, there's Valdez Is Coming.
