Did you consider David Lean and A Passage to India? Far from being his best film, it is a good movie nonetheless.

Thanks. I did consider Lean, but wondered how close to being "great" India is (haven't seen it yet). I probably should at least consider him "on the bubble."

I would have kubrick's eyes wide shut up there but not everyone considers it great, I consider it one of his better films at least.

I would also have victor fleming for his version of Joan Of Arc in 1948.

then there is Peckinpah's Osterman Weekend, which again most don't consider great but I would have on the list if it were mine.

and while I'm on the subject... Clint Eastwood has to be a lock for this list, considering he seems to be hitting his peak in his 70's... that is if he doesn't live forever(I just can't see him losing a showdown with death)
