I've read some of the Callahan books and have enjoyed them. For Coupland though, I'd say that while Generation X was good, Microserfs was better.
I second that emotion.
have you read "girlfriend in a coma"? the sticky soap-y plot had me going but packed a much bigger punch for me than gen x. shampoo planet was...entertaining. i'm reading miss wyoming right now. i'm not liking it much. too bad.
(i've admittedly declared this a coupland summer, by the way.)
microserfs rocks. my favorite coupland book.
Hey, I read a Nouwen book I really loved once. Unfortunately, I can't recall the title just yet. Oh, yes I can - Lifesigns. Great book. I also received Life of the Beloved as a gift once, but I have yet to tackle that one yet.
How is Wounded Healer?
Shalom, y'all!

actually i haven't acquired these books as of yet, but they're hopefully next in line, so i'll have to let you know on wounded healer. also, thanks for the recommend on lifesigns.
I loved American Gods. You've got a fun read ahead of you.
American Gods was definitely a fun read. Probably not as high on my list as Stardust or Neverwhere, but good nonetheless.
The Garcia Marquez and Rilke works - Terrific!
Shalom, y'all!
