When you used to do the viewing log and certain lists you say you watched a marathon of a show, i'm thinking of doing the same with south park. how long does it take you to watch it? when you do a marathon how many do you get through per day? just wanna know how good / bad i'm doing LOL
hey ! haha my south park marathon has fallen to a shambles !!! i got as far as mid way season 2, without skip, when season 8 arrived in the post and i went straight to that ! lol
are you liking season 4 of scrubs? (guessing it came saturday cus of pre-order?)
Huh.. I could swear I replied to your post above. What I meant to say (in more detail) was that I watched 8-12 sitcom eps or 4-6 drama eps a day. So, sorry if it seemed like I ignored that post, heh.. I honestly remember spending about ten minutes composing a reply!
EDIT: Ah, I replied on your list. Crisis and confusion averted..
As for your marathon, haha, I'd be tempted to dothat myself in that position!
Yeah, arrived Saturday, I finished it just an hour or two ago. It's great, though I think it might be my least favourite season so far (I think you once said it was your favourite?) But there are some classics in there.. My Cake, My Life In Four Cameras, My Last Chance, My Best Moment, My Best Laid Plans.. for some reason it didn't come with an episode listing though, and as the titles aren't on the menus I have to look online, did yours come with a sheet? (Did you get it yet, actually?)
yeah got mine today from shops, no episode list, was bit lame lol
well i still think its a fantastic season, but i think the 3rd season is now my fave (it changes alot) but yes, i did think it was my fave. yeah my cake is brilliant as are the others mentioned. there are some moments i love though in this season. i thought the use of JDs inner monolog for use in jokes really found its place here such as :
Molly : you wont get that hug you want
JD: uh, molly, i'm a doctor (and il'' GET that hug !)
one of many oh and the stuff about the emotion music playing in JDs head lol oh and "Beer kills people" scene haha but i don't think it has the emotional impact of previous seasons and it is a whole lot crazier. so it loses some of its impact. and the whole "JD falls for beautiful women but complains about it and ruins it " thing is tired
Yeah, there's the thing; earlier seasons were really emotionally charged often, which often were what elevated Scrubs from 'great sitcom' to 'outstanding sitcom'. In S4, even in My Cake, the scenes aren't as emotional, dramatic or moving as they could be. Another thing was that I felt the minor characters - Janitor in particular - were pushed too far; they were right as they were, and the additional screen time meant less impact when they did make a great joke. And also, as you say, sometimes things get a bit too crazy without all the laughs to justify it. Not the biggest fan of Molly either, but a lot of this season's guests I quite liked (Matthew Perry, Colin Farrell).
But having said all that, Scrubs is the best non-animated sitcom still making new episodes IMO. Despite its flaws, S4 is a hilarious collection of episodes, and I appreciated that the Turk/Carla/JD dynamic was pushed further, as some kind of story arc can benefit things; and the Cox/Jordan storyline worked well too. JD's thoughts remain hilarious each and every time, and references to Cheers (My Life in Four Cameras) are much appreciated! The direction and music also remain top-notch.. of course.
S2 remains my favourite season.. just. At various points I've also considered S1 and S3 my favourites too, though!
