Please recommend any documentaries that you think are worth seeing.

I loved Hoop Dreams. I also enjoyed Brother's Keeper, The War Room, Roger & Me, and Looking for Richard. And it feels like I'm the only one that hasn't seen Ken Burns' Civil War (I really should - everybody loves it).
I'm a huge fan of the ABC/History Channel series "The Century: America's Time" hosted by Peter Jennings. It's a six tape affair, but full of very interesting interviews with older people, veterans, etc, who experienced the 20th century.
The Up Documentaries by Michael Apted. Strong stuff Dan.
I think "Harlan County USA," about coal miners' strikes in Eastern Kentucky, may be the greatest documentary I've ever seen.
