Author Comments:
*not post script. 6/7/05: I think this was a guy, but as I have forgotten, I guess I'm over him :) unsurprising.
7/17/05 ok, pretty sure this was a guy, so it's now replaced with another guy.
11/07 Ok, have no idea who these guys were. Now, it's another guy.
Yeah, I guess I'm not really obsessed with much at this point.

How could Krispy Kreme ever get marked off?!

At the risk of horrifying you further, have you seen this?
In the words of that article, "In its quest for growth, Krispy Kreme also squandered some of its mystique. 'They became ubiquitous....'"
I was getting mine at Target and got bored. Not to say that I don't still appreciate them, but I'm in a "being good" phase. At least about doughnuts.
Wow! I thought the bloom seemed off the rose, but not like that!

well, I've always had a short attention span. Plus, I don't get to Target all that often. Plus, the closest actual KK joint is driving distance, and I'm sick of driving in general (parking in my neighborhood is at a premium, too).
Actually, I'm not that shocked by you deciding not to go to Target. The placement of my comment makes it ambiguous, but I was more shocked by the article Jim linked to; I didn't realize the company was in such bad shape...
I only clear this up because I was embarrased for people to think I was appalled by someone deciding not to go to Krispy Kreme. :)

Have you released any books via bookcrossing.com yet? How has that worked out for you?
I have, but have so far had no catches of my books that have been reported. In fact, I tried to release one at my outdoor club's monthly happy hour and had to basically beg my friend to take the book home rather than see it get thrown out, which I fear has happened to the others ... I'm evildonut there, too, if you care to look.
One a related note, I think the release alerts for books released at the airport are a little ridiculous/hilarious. Like I'm going to rush out and be able to get through security to catch the book. Seriously. I mean, I like free stuff, but I don't need a strip search more than once a year. On the other hand, maybe that would make life more interesting ...
"I already told you, I don't have a boarding pass, but for God's sake man, a book has been RELEASED in there! Ahhh! Let go of me!"
well, i just found out about my first "in the wild" catch - from a book i left at a hotel in dallas. he/she didn't join, but at least logged the book's capture and that it will be passed on.
Cool, congrats!
