yes there are A LOT of john hughes movies...but they're such classics...this list is open to suggestions too...so if you know any movies that can stand up to repeated viewings, feel free to comment. thanks!

***PS.i would be interested to hear from those of you who have seen **THE DAYTRIPPERS**....what did you think??***the people i saw it with didn't like it too much though...i think you have to be in the mood for it or something....i gotta see it another time to check...

PPS. EVERYONE, if they haven't already seen it, should go out and rent SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL, stat! if only for mary stuart masterson's performance...she's very charming in that movie...and the sound track is good too!

hey girl, it's groovytune. so how about Say Anything??? or Dead Again? one of my absolute faves (and yes...it's probably forgettable to many) is Mannequin! Andrew McCarthy and Kim Cattrall back in the day! She's now on "Sex and the City", but what ever happened to him? Je ne sais pas. Fight Club is an excellent choice, BTW. a movie that marie can't seem to live without is Cruel Intentions. it's an EXCELLENT modern remake of Dangerous Liasons, and if you haven't seen it, make a beeline to your Blockbuster but quick. :) -groovytune

i *definitely* agree with your recommendation of cruel intentions, but if you're going to own anything -- and this is a fantasy list, n'est-ce pas? -- you should own the dvd. *much* more fun than the video...and not necessarily for the reasons you'd think, either. <g> as far as andrew mccarthy goes, he's made a few movies since; kind of a long while ago i saw a movie on either sundance channel or the independent film channel with him and lili taylor in it, which i really enjoyed, but no one else seems to have heard of, called things i never told you. he's also got a few movies coming up soon, according to his imdb listing.

hey, barbie..... :)

i've seen the daytrippers....i really liked it the first time i saw it, the second time i saw it not so much, but still enough, and the third time the same way. (can you tell i tend to see things multiple times? <g>) i think it'd definitely a movie you have to be in the mood for, and i don't know how you liked it -- i'm assuming that since you have it up here, you liked it alot ;) -- but it's worth having.

i had more movies that i was going to recommend to you, and have now just totally forgotten about them..... :) later, ~k

yeah i really did like it...it's funny though b/c the other people that i saw it with weren't too impressed...haven't seen it since then though so i guess i'm not following my rule that it should stand up to "repeated viewings" although i think i would like it again...

I didn't like daytrippers, except for the man with the world's smallest bladder.
